Continue ReadingA week ago, we released a soft update of our 2025 rankings. The Quarterback group had a little movement, but not too much. This article will cover those QBs ranked #15 – #20 in the current update as of March 27, 2024.
Currently ranked #15 in the class, Carson is an interesting prospect who will have a pivotal senior season. Being ranked #15, I am confident he’ll eventually be a college prospect. I wrote about him at the beginning of the month, and I still have the same evaluation. He’s a raw prospect with a lot of promising traits and an offensive system that should help him prepare for the college level. I like that he stands in the pocket, tries to read the field, and tries to get the ball out quickly. He’s a good athlete, and does his best with what’s given to him. Work on his accuracy, throw power, and IQ will greatly aid him in the coming year.rnI know I just critiqued a lot of his game, but Carson is a very good high school quarterback. He has a great foundation and an insanely good opportunity to build off of that foundation.
Beau is a great quarterback who will face a new challenge facing teams in the newly-formed River Cities Alliance (RCA). Beau is a pro-style quarterback who has a great foundation but just needs to keep repping the position with focus on IQ, throw power, and accuracy. He stands in the pocket, delivers good throws, and his play is definitely good enough to get a leg up on any RCA team. Where he struggles is with his decision-making and arm talent. He had 13 touchdowns to 4 interceptions, but had several other turnover-worthy plays. You can’t say he plays scared, but he does take too many risks with the football. His arm strength isn’t bad, but his short throws could be delivered with a bit more juice and his long balls need more accuracy and touch before be can play at the next level. Beau is better than 90% of other QBs in this class, but does need to work on a few things before he gets a ton of college attention.
There’s a lot to like about Graham’s talent. The deep throw accuracy and general arm strength is great. He has a quick release, and tries to get the ball out quickly. He’s very good at finding an open receiver and quickly getting the ball to him. There isn’t much of him throwing into tight windows except for a few nicely placed goalline fades, but that’s a credit to his receivers for getting open. I need to watch Graham in person to get a better idea of his game. It’s notable that Graham is also a star point guard and a great basketball prospect.
Jackson is very similar to Beau and Carson. Very promising traits, knows how to play the Quarterback position, but just needs to improve in a few areas in order to get a lot of college attention. Before all that, Jackson is a great athlete. He’s lethal with the read option and has the speed to make some explosive run plays. In terms of passing, he has a good arm and can sling the ball downfield with solid accuracy. He needs to work on his fundamentals, IQ, and accuracy.
I haven’t watched Elliot’s film in a hot minute, but I like what I’m seeing from last season. Last time I saw Elliot was at the Hope 7on7. He performed well and nearly led DeWitt to the Championship game. His film shows what I saw in that 7on7 but with the obvious added layer of a pass rush. Elliott does his best and oftentimes succeeds at standing in the pocket and delivering a good, quick, accurate ball to his receiver. His throw power is the best of any quarterback in this article, which is something I didn’t realize going in. He’s also fairly accurate deep downfield and has receivers who can make plays. I’m excited to see what this offseason has in store for Elliot, and I’m interested to see if he earns any offers this summer.
Christian is a good small-school quarterback with exceptional throw power and overall arm talent. I’m not sure how well he can read a defense, but he finds open receivers and completes throws to all parts of the field. He especially thrives when throwing it deep toward either sideline. Very interested to see Christian in person sometime this offseason.
