Man was this kid a treat to watch back in week 2 against Mason. He was throwing with great anticipation, throwing his receivers open and orchestrating the offense masterfully. This continued the entire season, leading probably the most prolific offense in the state in 2024. He has been large steps better every time I watched him, and this game in week 2 was no exception. Larner is off to Michigan Tech next season and I am super pumped to follow along with him and see what else he can do at the next level!

Elliot earns a pretty substantial rankings boost. He’s an ultra-competitive dual-threat QB who brings a lot of experience to the table. Also, I don’t look into stats too much, but 60% passing is always nice to see.
His film showcases his dual-threat ability. As a runner, Elliott is great in the designed run as well as an improvised scramble. He isn’t the most athletic guy in the world, but as a Quarterback, he has next-level potential as a runner.
As for passing, I really like his quick-game ability. Play after play, Elliott displays an ability to throw on time, quickly, with great accuracy and velocity on short routes. In addition, he is more than capable of delivering an accurate pass deep downfield or on the run. It’s apparent that Elliott is well above-average in terms of both IQ and throwing talent. If he was a bit taller, he may be a MAC prospect. It looks like Elliott will end up in the GLIAC, and I’m looking forward to seeing where he lands.

I haven’t watched Elliot’s film in a hot minute, but I like what I’m seeing from last season. Last time I saw Elliot was at the Hope 7on7. He performed well and nearly led DeWitt to the Championship game. His film shows what I saw in that 7on7 but with the obvious added layer of a pass rush. Elliott does his best and oftentimes succeeds at standing in the pocket and delivering a good, quick, accurate ball to his receiver. His throw power is the best of any quarterback in this article, which is something I didn’t realize going in. He’s also fairly accurate deep downfield and has receivers who can make plays. I’m excited to see what this offseason has in store for Elliot, and I’m interested to see if he earns any offers this summer.

Elliott is someone I enjoy watching, and every time I see him he has improved from the last time. He’s got a good arm for the deep ball, but his touch on intermediate and short dump-offs has steadily improved, which made him a pretty easy choice for the QB spot on this list. I think he’s still not a household name all over the state, which is why I still believe he’s a bit underrated. Overall, I think if he continues to improve on accuracy and decision making/ defense reading, Larner could turn a ton of heads, and get to that next tier of gunslingers in the state.
