I was pumped to be able to get to see Aydon in action. One of the top uncommitted defenders in the state was all over the front seven. His elite frame and the power he has built into it allows him to play through traffic and get off blocks very efficiently. He finds the ball quickly and has the range to close quickly on it. The senior is looking like he has recovered well from his knee injury that he came back from a few weeks ago. Don’t sleep on him.

put on a show. In his Week 5 tape we see the range to go across the formation as well as the quickness to knife through traffic and make tackles against the inside run game. The knee operation clearly hasn’t cost him any mobility. The senior really makes sure the ball carrier feels him too as he lowers his shoulder and runs through the hit. It was also great to see how well he got through traffic while avoiding blocks. Not an easy task, especially for a kid listed at 6’4″ 235 lbs. Aydon is one of the top LBs that is uncommitted in the Class of 2026.

Aydon was able to put together a strong first half of the season in what could have been his breakout year. However, a torn ACL/MCL ended his year early. Before the injury, Aydon was a force on defense. He was all over the backfield disrupting plays from the DE & LB positions. Aydon is a strong athlete who is able to power through blocks and closes quickly when he gets a free run. If he gets close to doubling his numbers while working towards doubling the games played then Aydon is going to have a year to remember.

. The 6’3″ 220 lbs LB showed to be a versatile athlete in 2023 making plays at ILB, OLB, QB, and TE for Edgewood. Aydon is an efficient athlete at LB. We don’t see wasted movement or steps. He was quick to flow with the play, mirror the path of the RB, and meet them in the hole with a solid wrap up tackle. Fickell flashed the power to take on blocks and quickly disengage between the tackles. He also proved he could set the edge and take on pulling linemen. The sophomore was also an effective blitzer from ILB between timing when to blitz and being able to fight through blocks to get pressure on the QB. Aydon seems to be right on the edge of taking that next step. I’m excited to see what he looks like this fall and at any camps we cross paths at.
