Wheaton’s break into the top-20 is largely due to the great potential he offers as a 6’6”/300 DT. His tape is limited but has shown flashes of power, explosiveness, and physicality along the interior. He possesses great reach in his lengthy arms and promising upper-body strength. If Wheaton- who’s recruitment has been quiet since picking up offers from UNLV and Colorado St. in 2022- can prove his upside and put together strong senior film and production he should be able to further establish himself as one of the top DL prospects in the state and generate more serious interest on the recruiting trail.
Hallums kicked off 2024 by picking up an offer from Hawaii and committing on the spot in January. The Oahu-native is a strong, powerful IOL at 6’2”/280 with great upside at C. He moves his feet well to stay in front of oncoming rushers, delivers a loaded/compact strike, and can anchor down against bull-rushing DTs. He shows athletic versatility in his wrestling background. Hallums is one of the state’s premier centers heading into the 2024 season.
Perkins was a new addition to the 2025 OL rankings after putting together a strong junior season at RT for Faith Lutheran. He possesses useful length and flexibility in his athletic frame (6’4”/255), demonstrates power creating push off the ball, has the range to seal the edge on reach blocks, and is a nasty finisher at the POA. He does well identifying/picking up stunts in pass protection and picking up blocks at the second level in the run game. He shows good foundational fundamentals but needs to continue to polish his footwork and overall technique. Perkins could continue to climb the state’s OL rankings with another strong season in the fall.
Beverly showed playmaking ability on both sides of the ball in his junior season for Democracy Prep Agassi Campus. He’s a versatile athlete that flashed upside in his physicality, anticipation, and downfield speed at CB. He’s still a bit raw in his technique and needs to continue to develop his coverage skillset. He led the defense in tackles (51) and sacks (4) last season, a rare feat for a secondary defender. Beverly’s a two-way player to keep an eye on heading into next season.
Harris was a new addition to the 2025 WL for the athleticism and skillset he showed out of the backfield as a junior for Cheyenne. He’s a small, compact RB at 5’7”/150 with the kind of burst and explosiveness coaches look for in a playmaking scatback. He shows good vision out of the backfield, can shoot through narrow lanes at the LOS, and can make the first defender miss. Look for continued growth and athletic development from Harris, who totaled over 600 yards and 5 TDs last season.
