Here is a breakdown of each of the offensive linemen who competed in the showcase.
Oliva earned MVP honors from the center position and won a ton of reps during the one-on-one period.
His initial punch was too much for a lot of the defensive linemen to handle and he replaces his hands quickly. He has fast feet and keeps his hips square.
Oliva doesn’t give up too much ground and impressed the coaches on hand. He needs to make some strides in the weight room this offseason but he has the tools to be a varsity contributor for Bosco.
Highlights
Sandoval is lengthy at 6-foot-5 and has long arms. His footwork is solid and he has decent body control for a guy his size.
He fared well during the one-on-one period at left tackle. Sandoval could work on his foot speed a bit. He got beat off the edge by some of the speedier edge rushers.
Sandoval has the size to play at the college level someday and seems very coachable. An offseason in the weight room and working on his mobility will help him a lot, but I expect to see him getting offers one day.
Javorsky was playing tackle at the event despite being an interior offensive lineman when the pads come on.
He adapted well and had solid footwork out of the tackle spot. The speedier edge rushers beat him, but he held his own by getting good arm extension and quick feet.
On film, he’s an excellent puller who always has his head between the defender and the ball carrier. He has a chance to be the best returning offensive lineman at San Juan Hills in 2024.
Highlights
Both of these guys did a solid job in the one-on-one periods and went up against big competition.
First step was solid for both of them but they need to work on keeping their feet moving through contact. On the reps where they got beat, it was largely due to them having their feet still instead of moving with the defender.
Both were very coachable and have a lot of upside.
