I didn’t go into this game planning on watching Samson, but he was impossible to miss.

I’m not going to say anything surprising. Samson has elite burst, and he’s an extremely well-rounded WR. There was one instance where Samson mossed a defender and displayed excellent hands, body control, and balance. Amazing athlete, very little wasted movement on routes, and great polish.

Nothing shocking. I expect Samson to earn early playing time at Michigan State. He’ll also get a rankings boost come next update.

Tweaks to the 2026 rankings will be few and far between. The class is pretty well solidified, with some players I still need to get a look at.

Samson is a well-advertised superstar. Uber-athletic and has the stuff to play at any college in the country. A potential game-wrecker, even against a sensational group of DBs. I know Samson is a very gifted athlete- I’m looking for fundamental polish and leadership.

There’s some buzz around Samson being the #1 prospect in the entire state. His stock has been through the roof in the past couple of weeks. I’ll watch Samson in person against OLSM in a couple of weeks. Until then, I’ll keep an eye on his Weeks 1 and 2 tapes.

This tape is impressive. For one, 1:13 is pretty dang long for a 1-game tape. It is apparent that Samson was a massive part of the DCC gameplan.

Anyways, there are some excellent highlights here. I’m impressed with Samson’s burst at 0:29. A little bit of a stumble, but he’s able to explode forward, sprinting through tight traffic and earning a ton of YAC. Next, 0:41 shows a great block. Love a receiver who can get his hands dirty and lock up a DB. Finally, 0:55 shows a good punt return. I am consistently impressed with Samson’s ability to navigate traffic. All signs point toward Samson being an incredible player at Michigan State!

Gash has a lot of things going for him when it comes to Mr. Football.

For one, Gash is at a big, prestigious school that was probably the 2nd best team in Michigan last season. Catholic Central returns a ton of talent. On paper, this program is better than they were last season.

Second, Gash is a cheat code out there. He can do everything that the previous Mr. Footall WRs could do. Take the top off the defense, elusiveness in space, consistent hands, and more. If DCC makes a state championship run, which I feel they have a great chance at doing, Gash could be Mr. Football.

The Michigan State offense looks like it’s going to be a fun group for years to come. In large part, at least for me, is because they’re doing a solid job of recruiting in Michigan.

Samson is the next offensive superstar to commit to The Spartans. I predict that Samson will be a versatile Z receiver. Motion, some speed-in-space, and some deep routes. He’s someone that defenses will need to plan for in all areas of the field. Samson’s game in many ways rhymes with Nick Marsh, mostly with his deep threat ability. Though, I view Samson has a better speed-in-space guy, and a worse physical 50/50 ball winner compared to Marsh. If they ever see the field together at Michigan State, they’d compliment each other excellently. Regardless, Samson has the best skillet of any WR in Michigan’s class of 2026.

College coaches love a versatile athlete, and Samson Gash Samson Gash 6'0" | 165 lbs | WR Catholic Central | 2026 State MI is one of the most versatile and explosive players in the state. While Gash does shine at the wideout position, he is also able to carry the ball on pitches, reverses and sweeps while also being a reliable return man.

Gash has the ability to absolutely turn on the jets. His acceleration is incredible and I love the way he is able to change direction on a dime. His routes are clean and he shows phenomenal vision to explode for extra yardage. Gash is truly a do-it-all guy that can give defenses nightmares.
