With all that going on it isn’t easy for an underclassman to find a consistent role. However, LB Asher Fontaine Asher Fontaine 6'0" | 190 lbs | LB Bay Port | 2028 State WI has done that. He currently has 56 tackles, 5 TFLs, and half a sack and the team still has at least one more game to go this Friday. The sophomore has earned a starting spot at ILB and has the traits to turn himself into one of the best at his position. Asher has an intriguing blend of instincts, sideline to sideline range, and a fantastic ability to fly through traffic untouched while closing on the ball. His timing and burst paired with those quickly developing instincts make him a nightmare to try and get an OL up to. Keep a close eye on him. Sophomore LB Asher Fontaine Asher Fontaine 6'0" | 190 lbs | LB Bay Port | 2028 State WI wrapped up his sophomore regular season with the best performance of his young career. The ’28 is the only sophomore starter on defense for the reigning D1 champs, and with efforts like Week 9 we should continue to see more and more of him. Right from the first play on tape you see the impressive natural gifts. Quickly reading and reacting, moving with the flow of the play while maintaining his gap, and tackling with violence. The ’28 also brings a strong element of speed to the position. It looks effortless for him to meet the RB in the hole off tackle for no gain. Physical and mental gifts of the sophomore LB are showing more and more as his experience has grown through the season. Asher has a very high ceiling and will be a defender to watch with playoffs starting this Friday.

Fontaine is an athletic Middle Linebacker that plays with really good technique on film. Takes good read steps and plays on the balls of his feet. Scrapes well laterally and uses his hands to push off and avoid the muck in the middle of the field, while diagnosing plays.
