is back with the Gretna East Griffins as he looks to take over the vacant RB1 role and help them make a return trip to Memorial in November. Although Quentin hasn’t had too many opportunities to showcase his next-level talent, you can say he enters his senior campaign with fresh legs… and ones that can move very fast. One thing that has stood out about Quentin’s performance at showcases/camps is his explosiveness and twitch. He moves very well between the tackles but can also easily bounce runs to the outside. Once he finds the open field, Quentin is quick to his next gear to separate from defenses. Malon also does a great job as a receiving back who can help move the chains as a reliable target over the middle of the field and one that can spring loose for additional YAC. Big year coming for Quentin!

will be rocking new threads next season, we should still expect to see him earn a solid role with the Westside Warriors. In a split Gretna East backfield, Malone was able to post 438 yards and three rushing touchdowns on 66 carries last season. Watching Quentin’s tape, you see a physical back who flashes top-tier burst as he hits his gaps and the acceleration to break away from defenses as he finds the open field. Malone displayed solid vision that helps him navigate through traffic and find even small creases in the defense. He runs with a low center of gravity that helps him maintain his balance as he absorbs contact. Malone also showed some upside as a catch-and-run back who can receive the ball in space and do damage with blockers in front of him. Really looking forward to seeing Quentin as part of what should be an elite 1-2 RB duo at Westside.
Quentin will be a cornerstone player for the upstart Griffins in the upcoming years. Malone is a player whom Gretna East coaches were excited to see get on the field before the season started. Quentin definitely delivered on those expectations with several flashes of the high-caliber player he can be. Depth at RB limited his carries, but when he did get the ball, Quentin ran with toughness and showed nice twitch to make defenders miss. Malone saw a majority of his varsity time come at outside linebacker, where he displayed his physical, aggressive play style. He attacks the ball very well and is tireless in his pursuit. Tackles with technique. We’ll see what year 2 has in store for Quentin!
