Kaleb logged 12 carries for 269 rusihng yards and four touchdowns in just ONE quarter for Yutan over the weekend, which is an absurd stat line. You have to start out first by shouting out Yutan's offensive line as from the jump they opened up some huge holes for Kaleb to utilze his great speed to do the rest of the job. Kaleb showed off some great vision especially into the second level of the field, as I felt he could trigger his burst especially on that level of the field to take the ball the distance for six. The 5'9 177 pounder even showed off durabiliy along the edges, as one that could lower his shoulder against bigger framed athletes on the outside, as he was unphased by incoming tacklers.

Sage runs the ball like a bull that esaped from the farm in the open field, and is one that has shown off his elusive traits thru the first handful of weeks of the season. He has great early-setting vision that translates to explosiveness once he sees his opening as a pure downhill runner that seeks contact if the secondary is willingt to get in front of him, The Washburn (KS) running back commit is steal coming out of Nebraska as he sits as our RB4 in what is a loaded 2027 class of running backs that could move the needle upwards when we update the rankings after the season.

Seven carries, 197 rushing yards and five total touchdowns is what 2028 running back [player_tooltip player_id='2170483' first='Mason' last='Schmer'] put together for Scottsbluff against Hastings last week and there's plenty on tape that catches the eye. Mason is a running back that is very fluid and I felt surely gets faster the farther he gets upfield. If you are a college coach recruiting Nebraska, you must watch his second play from last week against Hastings as he got out of a heavy pile of inside traffic and utilized his durability fully to his advantage to get upfield running several yard lengths ahead of any tackler nearby. Mason also has a great finishing ability with the runs he put together last week, and you can surely bet that this young man will be on our 2028 rankings very very soon.

Lawson is a new name to our 2028 radar out of Logan View, and is one that I feel has his stock rising thru the midseason mark. The 5'7 155 pounder runs tooth and nail thru the inside box and is way more durable than he might get credit for with the yards he's able to attain thru contact. He is another one that has sneaky vision out of this group that can move out of the pile quickly as a east-west playmaker for the Logan View rushing attack. You also have to shout out what he does on the defensive side of the ball, as Lawson is one that has instinctive change of direction that's a great tackler in space as well.

The 6'0 180 pounder from Central Valley had a big week in Week 5 against Twin Loup, with 15 carries, 147 rushing yards, and two touchdowns in which Central Valley won 38-0. Luke is one that is gifted along the edges of the field and also has growing change of direction that has a well-timed cutting ability to get into the open field with that attention to detail he has at his disposal. With three offers thus far, the tape shows on both sides of the ball that Luke is willing to do the dirty work as not only a blocker, but also at the linebacker position where he shows off a linebacker that gets downhill to the ball carrier with precision.

Oddly holding just one NAIA offer thus far is Gretna East running back [player_tooltip player_id='1075674' first='Quentin' last='Malone'], but he's one that the senior eval could add to that mix. Quentin's ability to utilze the open field field has created some long splash runs thus far this season as his ability to capitalize with the large holes that the Gretna East offensive line opens up for him allows him to use his explosive tools with sound change of direction. That change of direction Quentin has is always well-timed especially in red zone situations for Quentin as his quickness he has opens up swifter iin my eyes in those tighter windows. Surely one that is more a sleeper than he should be out of this 2027 running back group.

Chester is one that got on my radar in the live eval earlier this season as one of Papio South's playmakers that was making a ton of plays against Papillion-La Vista and that has continued throughout the season. Where I am seeing the growth even more for Chester is in the pass game, as his ability over the middle of the field shows much what could be a slot receiver at the next-level as I feel this young man has an open door for position flexibility. Not one that I can find on Twitter, but surely one that seems to flying under the radar as a running back that is very durable for the lack of size he might have.

Caleb is a 6'2 205 pound running back out of Blue Hill that is another eye-catcher out of this Bell Cow group of running backs coming out of the 2028 class. You want to talk about durability, this kid has it as when he lowers his shoulder he shows off a heck of a lot of strength thru contact. The tape he put together against Pleasanton last week, shows that he wins just about all of his reps thru contact and when you put that kind of a size in your backfield, you see a lot of gritty runs. When Caleb runs in the inside box he's fighting off plenty of tacklers as this young man is very much a sleeper out of Blue Hill, that has some raw traits but is on the rise in our 2028 class.
