looks primed to take on a bigger role this upcoming fall. Last season, Carver maximized his 13 receptions as he finished with 197 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 15 yards per reception. Carver is a bigger-bodied receiver who does an excellent job using his 6’2″, 195-pound frame to fight off pressing DBs at the line of scrimmage and to “out-physical” them at the catch point. He has strong hands that allow him to secure the ball while also displaying great concentration to complete the catch through contact. Very good at making difficult receptions outside of his frame. Fritchen also showed the awareness to find and sit in the soft spots of the defense, giving his QB an easy target when the play breaks down. Carver’s selflessness also stood out on tape, as you can find him running downfield looking for blocks to pick up when his teammate makes a reception or bounces a run to the outside. Lots of upside here… could be a spring riser!

It didn’t take me long to grasp the gains that Carver has made in the weight room since our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase in December, as he was the most physically imposing WR in the group on Saturday in Aberdeen from the eye test alone. He was one of the most fluid route-runners I found in the WR group in my eyes and I can tell is already developing on how to use his 6’1 188 pound frame to his full advantage based on the reps I got to watch. Carver I could gauge has made gains with his agile movement as his cuts to the middle of the field were much smoother than they were even a couple months ago. He also looks way more poised with his hands and is a WR prospect that makes me glad that 7v7 football has finally caught waves in the Dakotas during the Spring.
