rnWalker is an upcoming QB I’ve hit a few times in the past and have met in person a few times over the years. I met him when he was a freshman and I towered over him at 6’3″. The next time I saw him at a camp maybe a year later, he looked down at me. He’s beginning to develop into the frame and fill it out, which is perfect. He’s had a few years to learn behind Bryson Luter Bryson Luter 6’0″ | 180 lbs | QB Lawrence Central | 2024 State IN , one of the best Senior QBs in the state, and seems to have taken advantage of that time. Anytime Walker has been on the field this year, he’s been good. He’s developing and playing well when he gets the opportunity. He started the game against Ben Davis where he looked really good and made some big throws. As the game went on, he seemed to get in a groove and was just playing ball. He was going through his reads, dropping back in sync, and getting the ball out on time. He had a 75-yard TD where he threw a perfect ball deep down the left sideline that his receiver caught in stride. On the night against one of the best defenses in the state, Walker threw for 313 yards and 2 TDs. Lawrence Central may have lost that game 26-23, but with the showcase Walker put together, Lawrence Central is going to be just fine long-term.

rnAlley is wrapping up his first year being the starter and based on his performance, tape, and how good he’s looked all year you would guess he’s a 4-year starter. He’s not just been unbelievable, but he’s been so good that typically you expect some sort of drop-off at some point. He’s not only gotten better each game, but he even put up 330+ passing yards and 3 TD performance while only having 4 incompletions. 1 of which was a drop and the other was a smart throwaway. His footwork is fairly clean for a year 1 starter and not just that, but will stand in the pocket and take the big hits to deliver the ball. He’s got a fantastic arm that allows him to whip the ball downfield, the best part being he’s got the accuracy to put the ball where he wants. He’s systematic in going through his reads and doesn’t tend to lock on or pre-determine. He seems to just have that special feel and anticipation you need to have in order to play QB at a very high level. I’m confident that if he went to a bigger school, he’d be a D1 target. His 1905 yards, 25 passing TDs with 71% completion and 137 yards, and 6 TDs on the ground with a record of 8-1 seem to back that belief up for now. Most of their games have been blowouts because Alley and the offense roll like a machine.

Coellner is a young developing QB who has had some fairly special moments of flash this year. It’s not been a smooth ride for Coellner as he’s had his bumps and bruises that come along with learning the QB position, but at the end of the day, Carmel knows its football program is in good hands for the next few years. Coellner has a nice frame, is athletic enough to escape and stretch a play, and then has the arm talent to get the ball downfield while moving to either side. He’ll kill a defense with the read option if they don’t pay attention to his legs, but Coellner looks best in the pocket. When he has time to set his feet and go through his reads, he’s got the potential to be as dangerous as anyone. Right now, it’s about consistency and digesting his mistakes, but he’s done that for the most part this year. There’s no denying he’s a bit raw, but he’s also got the tools, potential, and time all on his side to develop into one of the best QBs in the state.

Geske is a developing QB we hit back in February as someone who could set up his recruitment perfectly this fall with how he played last year, and he’s done just that. Not only has he taken a step toward development, but he’s improved in every category across the board. He seems to be seeing the field better and much more confident in the offense and what he’s being asked to do. He’s got one of the most impressive passing TDs of the year. He was flushed out of the pocket immediately and stepped up and then had another defender coming straight to his face. Now rolling to his left and about to take a hit, Geske delivered a dime to the WR who saw him scramble and broke open and gave him an outlet throw. A lot of trust in his guys, and potential, is shown in that 1 play. However, he’s made plays like that all year and his potential is just littered all over his tape. This year he’s thrown for 2380 yards and 27 TDs on the year while completing 62% of his passes. Geske seems to be right on track and checks out as someone who can develop long-term at the next level.
