Bryan Ault | Prep Redzone Scout
Despite losing to Roncalli, the Brebeuf gunslinger – and son of head coach Matt Geske – put together a whale of a senior year with video game-like passing numbers. He is very savvy, looks smart on the field, can make plays with his legs, elude rushers and buy time, and has an above-average arm to boot.

Geske’s career will go down as one to remember for Brebeuf Jesuit as he seemingly never had a bad game. Even on his off days, he would be highly productive and his 4 TDs on Friday night weren’t quite enough to get them over the hump. I’m not sure what the future holds for Geske, but he’s talented and I’d love to see him sling it on Saturdays.

Geske put up numbers that don’t even seem real. In a 68-57 victory over Bloomington South (no, that wasn’t a basketball score), he broke his own school record: he threw 27/36 for five touchdowns and a whopping 559 yards passing. He leads the state in passing yardage and is clearly having an otherworldly season. If the Braves tighten down a defense, there’s nothing stopping them from reaching Lucas Oil behind Geske’s arm.

Brebeuf Jesuit’s offense has had a few historic performances this season and Geske and crew just had another one on Friday. Luckily for them, Terre Haute South kept it close so they could keep slinging it. Geske finished the night with 542 yards and 6 TDs. He was hot to start, made some impressive throws, and got into a rhythm early, the rest was just icing on the cake.

Geske showed a solid arm and great accuracy on the deep ball, and has a short memory from his mistakes. The gunslinger hit receivers in stride in the short/intermediate game, showed strong leadership and has great on-field temperament. He possesses good mobility and can elude rushers. He even earned the praise of Carmel head coach John Hebert with his savvy in and out of the pocket. With his father, Matt, leading the Braves as head coach, Geske is very cerebral and football-minded.

Geske has a powerful arm, capable of making deep throws and fitting the ball into tight windows. His arm strength adds a vertical threat to the offense and keeps defenses on their heels. Geske is a developing QB we hit back in February as someone who could set up his recruitment perfectly this fall with how he played last year, and he’s done just that. Not only has he taken a step toward development, but he’s improved in every category across the board. He seems to be seeing the field better and much more confident in the offense and what he’s being asked to do. He’s got one of the most impressive passing TDs of the year. He was flushed out of the pocket immediately and stepped up and then had another defender coming straight to his face. Now rolling to his left and about to take a hit, Geske delivered a dime to the WR who saw him scramble and broke open and gave him an outlet throw. A lot of trust in his guys, and potential, is shown in that 1 play. However, he’s made plays like that all year and his potential is just littered all over his tape. This year he’s thrown for 2380 yards and 27 TDs on the year while completing 62% of his passes. Geske seems to be right on track and checks out as someone who can develop long-term at the next level.
