In just one half of play, it was a special performance put on by the Hills East quarterback. Heyman has shown tremendous improvement from his junior year and he has been slinging the ball all over the field. Against Centereach he registered 329 yards and 5 touchdowns in just the first half. Heyman did an excellent job of moving around in the pocket and scrambling to the outside where he continuously made excellent throws. Heyman threw a perfect 55 yard bomb in stride to his receiver for a long touchdown. That was easily one of the top plays I’ve seen this year and he was in complete control of the entire game against Centereach, he’ll be tested against a good Bellport defense next game.
In a primetime game against Hills West, Kyle Messina Kyle Messina 6’1″ | 195 lbs | RB Sayville | 2025 State NY did what he does best and that’s take over a game on the ground. On a wet, rainy and windy afternoon, everyone knew Messina would get a heavy workload and the Colts still couldn’t stop him. He had a huge 57 yard touchdown where his vision and explosiveness was on full display. Messina has some of the best IQ out of any RB on Long Island and he made people miss in the open field with ease. What impressed me on a lot of his runs was his breakaway speed. Although the Colts defense is a little smaller, Hills West has a very fast group and Messina still flew by players and pulled off big runs.

If East Islip wanted to slow down the prolific Westhampton offense it would start with their star Sebastian Regis Sebastian Regis 6’1″ | 280 lbs | DL East Islip | 2024 State NY and he performed up to expectations. In Suffolk Division 3, you simply can’t have just one lineman attempt to block Regis and the Hurricanes found that out Friday night. His power and quickness off the line just bullied offensive lineman. Regis quickly found his way in the backfield and made tackles punishing Westhampton players. Regis had a key sack in the Redman victory, as well as a blocked kick. It’s evident that he is on a different level than any defensive player on Long Island.

The running back from Carey has been the guy for a Seahawks offense that has been thrilling to watch. Tolliver is one of the fastest backs in Nassau County and he has been excellent in open space. Against Long Beach, Tolliver had 128 yards and 4 touchdowns on the ground. It featured a long run of over 50 yards where he blazed past the Marines secondary. He does a little bit of everything for the Seahawks and came away with a blocked punt in which he returned for a 27 yard touchdown. He will be the key for Carey to have an opportunity in ending Garden City’s 34 game win streak.
In Sachem North’s battle against Brentwood they were without star quarterback Anthony Vino Anthony Vino 6’1″ | 185 lbs | QB Sachem North | 2024 State NY , so the run game was going to be relied on. That’s where junior tailback Lucas Singleton Lucas Singleton 5’11” | 200 lbs | RB Sachem North | 2025 State NY stepped up and took over for the undefeated Flaming Arrows. He has to be at least be 6 foot and 200 pounds, Singleton played even bigger than that against a physical Brentwood team. Singleton was a tough runner and was making plays in between the tackles and racking up yards after contact to keep the chains moving. When he wasn’t bouncing off tacklers, he showed the finesse with a great spin move he utilized multiple times. He was good in short yard situations and he will have more 100+ yard games like we saw this past weekend.
