A new player emerged as the top prospect in the class and there were plenty of shake ups and additions in this ranking update. Throughout the next week, we'll be breaking down a ton of 2029 prospects that you need to know about now and moving forward. In this breakdown, we're putting the spotlight on the top five prospects in the class. While the order of the prospects got shaken up, the five overall players remained the same.
Broken Arrow offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1409130' first='Devin' last='Smith'] is the new number one prospect in the state's 2029 class but it should be noted that the gap between the top three guys in this class is so incredibly small. All three have valid arguments, we're giving the nod to Smith here for a few reasons. He's been starting since the start of his freshman year against 6A-1 competition and that fact can't be ignored. He's moved over to the left tackle position this year and has been completely dominant against top competition week in and week out. And on a team full of next level talent and stars all over the place, there's a chance that Smith ends up being the best overall prospect. Now, there's a certain 2027 two-way star that might have something to say about that. But by the time it's all said and done, Smith is going to have an offer from pretty much any school in the nation. There's no doubt at this point that he is a true national prospect and will be flirting with that five star status over the next two years. We'll get a chance to see him in person for the second time this year on Friday.

Carl Albert offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1701291' first='Jax' last='Wilkerson'] is right behind Smith and you could flip a coin for that top spot and feel comfortable about it. Even before Wilkerson started his freshman year in 2025, he was pointed out as being an absolute dude and would be Carl Albert's next star prospect. 18 months later and it's hard to argue that statement as his ceiling continues to get higher and higher. Wilkerson didn't play as much last year compared to the other prospects on this breakdown because Carl Albert had the benefit of a senior-heavy offensive line. This season, Wilkerson has slid into the left tackle spot and has been manhandling opponents all season. The thing that makes him so unique and why he's a no doubt prospect for the top five is the athleticism he plays with at his size. He can absolutely move and around 6'6 or 6'7 and 300 pounds, big guys should not move as well as he does. Similar to Smith, Wilkerson is right there as a 2028 prospect that will have offers to play at the next level from pretty much any school in the nation that he would want to attend.

Jones quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1667339' first='Jeymon' last='Reed'] comes in at number three in the latest update and while he's dropped two spots, it has nothing to do with his play and everything to do with the two above him. Reed has taken his game to another level this season, in his first year with the Longhorns. Every week, he has been terrorizing defenses with his arm and his legs and he continues to produce, despite the fact that teams all across the state know about him at this point. At this time last year, Reed firmly established himself as the top freshman in the state and his name was starting to make its way around the state. Now, he's widely considered one of the top quarterback prospects in the state, regardless of class. It would be interesting to see where Reed would rank in the 2028 or even the 2027 class. We're confident he would be a top five guy at his position and threaten to be number one. Reed has played lights out football and he's coming off one of the better performances of the season last week against Metro Christian and shows no signs of slowing down.

Broken Arrow has another top five prospect (and plenty more throughout the 2029 rankings) here with [player_tooltip player_id='1573111' first='Joseph' last='Williams'] at the wide receiver position. Williams solidified himself as the top receiver in this class this spring and early summer. He was absolutely dominant in various 7v7 tournaments and then had an excellent spring with the Tigers. So it's no surprise that Williams has earned valuable time at the receiver position this fall, for a Broken Arrow offense that is absolutely loaded. Williams is another example of a 2029 prospect that has his best football still ahead of him. Make no mistake about it, Williams is one of the best playmakers at wide receiver in the state and that can also be used as a testament for just how loaded this Broken Arrow offense truly is. When the Tigers have gone to Williams, he always answers and he always produces. He's blown up as a prospect in the last six months and that shows no signs of slowing down. Just like we mentioned with Smith, we'll get another chance to see Williams in person this week as they face Bixby.

Rounding out the top five is another Carl Albert Titan. [player_tooltip player_id='1830047' first='Wyatt' last='Cordray'] became undeniable last season as the Titans had to find a way to get him on the football field. Whether it's as a hybrid tight end on offense or a linebacker on defense, Cordray's ceiling is incredibly high. And his story on the gridiron is similar to that of Wilkerson where the Titans have not needed him to be the do-it-all athlete that he's more than capable of being. He's played his role and he's done it at a high level. There will come a time when the Titans need him to be the unquestioned leader on both sides of the ball and that might be sooner rather than later. Cordray is 2029 prospect that we featured last week about baseball stars that are also shining on the gridiron. Cordray is a top five football prospect in the state but it's also possible he ends up as a top five baseball prospect in the state. That shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. Carl Albert has a long history of producing athletes that end up being top prospects in multiple sports and Cordray is another example of that.
