The Tigers are 3-0 for the first time since they won the 6A-1 state championship in 2018. The Tigers had a dominant showing but we saw a ton of playmakers on both sides of the game. In this breakdown, we're putting the spotlight on 15 players that stood out to us in one way or another on Friday night!

RELATED

Broken Arrow-Owasso Highlights

[player_tooltip player_id='2234526' first='AJ' last='McMahon'] - 2028 Defensive Back - Broken Arrow

It's no secret that Broken Arrow has one of the best secondaries in the state and it was on full display Friday night. Junior cornerback [player_tooltip player_id='2234526' first='AJ' last='McMahon'] showcased their depth, coming into the game and coming up with big interceptions in the win. McMahon is a long, rangy cornerback that did a really good job, specifically in the second half of the win.

Bryson "BB" Brown - 2027 Defensive Back - Broken Arrow

Broken Arrow senior cornerback and Oklahoma State commit Bryson "BB" Brown had a really strong start to the game on Friday night. Early on, he was draped all over some of Owasso's wide receivers and in some big pass play situations, where Owasso needed to keep the chains moving, it was Brown that separated the receiver from the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1673157' first='Carson' last='Odom'] - 2028 Linebacker - Owasso

Broken Arrow had a lot of standouts on Friday. They weren't alone in that. Owasso, despite falling short had several players that stood out and junior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1673157' first='Carson' last='Odom'] was one of them. Odom was a tackling machine throughout the night and showcased a nose for the football and was always around the Broken Arrow ball carriers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1971146' first='Colton' last='Barlow'] - 2027 Linebacker - Broken Arrow

Broken Arrow's secondary wasn't the only group that made plays on a frequent consistency. Their linebackers had a solid night as well and senior [player_tooltip player_id='1971146' first='Colton' last='Barlow'] was one of them. This guy played with his hair on fire and the thing that we liked the most about his performance was the energy he played with. From start to finish, Barlow's energy was unmatched.

[player_tooltip player_id='1235926' first='Drew' last='Frankenfield'] - 2027 Quarterback - Owasso

Owasso senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1235926' first='Drew' last='Frankenfield'] did everything he could against a Broken Arrow defense that was littered with next level talent. He took what the defense gave him at times but it was a tough night for the Owasso senior. But within that, came his standout attribute. He never lost composure and he always maintained a calm presence within the offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1642605' first='Holt' last='Wilson'] - 2028 Wide Receiver - Owasso

Junior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1642605' first='Holt' last='Wilson'] emerged as one of Frankenfield's top targets and he had a strong showing on Friday night. Wilson's top attribute was his ability to run precise routes. Frankenfield could always trust that Wilson was going to be where he needed to be and because of that, Wilson came down with catch after catch, keeping the chains moving.

[player_tooltip player_id='1836963' first='Jack' last='Gardner'] - 2027 Defensive Back - Broken Arrow

Senior [player_tooltip player_id='1836963' first='Jack' last='Gardner'] is one of five different defensive backs on this breakdown for the Tigers. Gardner made one of the game's biggest plays when he picked off Frankenfield and returned it for a touchdown with no time left on the clock in the second quarter. In addition to that big play, he was also a hard hitter against Owasso ball carriers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1515723' first='Jaymian' last='Compton'] - 2027 Wide Receiver - Owasso

Owasso senior [player_tooltip player_id='1515723' first='Jaymian' last='Compton'] joined Wilson as the top targets in the Owasso offense for their passing attack. While Wilson used his precise route running to make plays, it was a very simple formula for Compton. Speed. And lots of it. The Rams got creative with getting the ball to Compton in space and he was able to make a lot happen after the catch.

[player_tooltip player_id='1836973' first='Malik' last='Ross'] - 2027 Linebacker - Broken Arrow

We were fired up to get a chance to watch senior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1836973' first='Malik' last='Ross'] in person again on Friday night. We had heard really good things about Ross over the last month but wanted to see it with our eyes. He passed the eye test for sure. He joined Barlow as a devastating defender that was equally impactful as a run defender or dropping in coverage.

[player_tooltip player_id='485526' first='Noah' last='Gillespie'] - 2027 Defensive Back - Broken Arrow

Senior and TCU commit [player_tooltip player_id='485526' first='Noah' last='Gillespie'] was another defensive back that furthered the claim that the Tigers have the best secondary in the state. Gillespie was matched up against arguably Owasso's best playmaker and it seemed like every time the Rams tried to go to him, it was Gillespie that made the play. From start to finish, he was on top of it.

[player_tooltip player_id='649663' first='Octavian' last='Roberson'] - 2027 Running Back - Broken Arrow

Broken Arrow running back coach Jeremy Smith told us before the game that he has the best running back room in the state. It's hard to argue with that. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='649663' first='Octavian' last='Roberson'] ended up being the standout running back on Friday but they have a few that could earn that title on any given night. Roberson's big play was a 50+ yard touchdown run early in the second half.

[player_tooltip player_id='478124' first='Semaj' last='Stanford'] - 2027 Wide Receiver/Safety - Broken Arrow

Anytime senior and Oregon commit [player_tooltip player_id='478124' first='Semaj' last='Stanford'] steps on the field, he's going to be one of the best players on that field. In all three phases of the game, Stanford made plays. He caught two long touchdown passes in the first half to put Broken Arrow in a position where they would never trail. With an Oregon coach watching from start to finish, Stanford was undeniably great.

[player_tooltip player_id='1686398' first='Shamar' last='Banner'] - 2027 Quarterback - Broken Arrow

This was our first chance to see Broken Arrow senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1686398' first='Shamar' last='Banner'] in person and in game action. We watched him back in the spring but he put everything on display Friday night. He was beating Owasso with his arm and his legs and in our opinion, he's flying up the charts and there might not be an argument that he's the state's best available 2027 prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1347550' first='Tayden' last='Toles'] - 2027 Defensive Lineman - Owasso

We thought this on Friday night and it was reinforced going through the video on Saturday, senior defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1347550' first='Tayden' last='Toles'] had a really strong performance on the line of scrimmage. Toles also benefitted from lining up next to a Kansas State commit on the defensive line. It opened things up for Toles to cause a lot of chaos in the BA backfield.

[player_tooltip player_id='1530085' first='Zane' last='Matthews'] - 2027 Wide Receiver - Broken Arrow

Stanford wasn't the only playmaker catching bombs from Banner on Friday night. Senior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1530085' first='Zane' last='Matthews'] caught two touchdowns in the win. On his second touchdown, it felt like he completely burned the Owasso secondary because by the time he got the ball in his hands, he had 5-10 yards of separation and strolled into the end zone.
