Chambers at Palisades: Offensive Standouts

<p>In a good game between two 8A contenders, Chambers knocked off Palisades 24-20 to move to 4-0 on the season. With the loss, Palisades falls to 3-1 on the season. There were several offensive players who stood out on both teams, and we will profile them here in this article. </p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Jamouri was impressive on the ground and in the air for the Cougars in this one, and without his play, Chambers might not have been victorious. Jamouri did a great job in the zone-read running game, exploding off the read with his runs and getting to the 2nd level of the defense consistently. In the passing game, Jamouri was accurate and connected with his receivers consistently to all areas of the field. He's been off to a strong start so far this season for Chambers, and his play has given a receiver they can go to in critical situations. Malachi has developed well in his career, and he'll be a player defenses will start keying in on as we get closer to conference play. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">I thought Aiden was the most consistent offensive lineman in this one - the times Chambers felt pressure in the passing game came more from up the middle than around the edge of the tackle spots. Aiden did a good job protecting the blind side in this one and not allowing quick pressure to break up plays. The running game had its most success outside and off-tackle, and that speaks well to how he was blocking in the running game as well. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">I'm usually pretty well-versed on players in the Charlotte Metro Area, but Matt's emergence as a running back for Chambers this year caught me off guard. He's a strong downhill runner who brings the punishment with the ball in his hands. With that being said, though, he's got good speed in the open field to also take a run the distance and not get caught from behind. Chambers has three running backs, including Matt, who would start for most teams in the Charlotte Metro Area, so their ability to keep guys fresh and hurt you will be important as the season moves forward. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">I'm glad I am writing this article today, because we just got the great news that Cole has committed to play college football at Liberty! They are getting a steal in my opinion. Chambers brought a good pass rush and mix of blitz pressure at him in this one, and Cole did a great job of escaping and handling the multiple looks for the majority of the night. He's got some nice agility to get out of potential sacks, and keeps his eyes downfield when on the run to make strong throws down the field. Palisades ran out of time for the victory, but Cole certainly gave them a great chance to win. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Riley was the leading receiver for the Pumas in this game, and he did a great job of executing his route running. Riley was able to create separation with his speed and footwork, and he has a great relationship in navigating the scramble drill with his quarterback - there were at least two catches he made to keep drives alive. He's developed even more this season, and he's more polished as a player. Impressive.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Dillon got off to a hot start in this game, and he showed a nice combination of speed along with precision in his route running, which was an impressive trait for his size. The other thing I really liked about his game was his hands - it appears he has a large catch radius with a long frame. I think more college football programs should take a long look at him; he could be a late steal in the recruiting process for a school that needs WR help. </p>    <p></p>
