Great nose for the football and is constantly around the action making decisive reads quickly. Has a knack for making plays at or behind the LOS using that fast trigger. Smart in pursuit, he stays square and maintains proper leverage to the ball carrier with good awareness of angles. Does a good job taking on blocker and disengaging when the play is to him and works around them with speed on plays away. Converts speed to power once he closes the gap, giving offensive linemen a tough combination to handle. Beats blockers with good hand usage and placement in combination with his play strength to control and shed. Plus athlete that can redirect and work laterally down the line to play the perimeter, whether that's setting the edge or chasing plays to the sideline. Patient footwork while he diagnoses the play, limiting wasted movement and keeping him in position to react rather than guess. That patience shows up in coverage too, staying disciplined with his eyes before triggering downhill or driving on a throw. Physical at the point of contact, willing to fill the alley and set the edge in run support. A well-rounded safety whose range and discipline give him the versatility to thrive in a number of different looks. Extremely active defender no matter where he lines up, he's aggressive filling gaps against the run and has the range to cover deep when dropped back. High football IQ, he lines up all across the field and shows a clear understanding of his assignment. He flashes good awareness and key diagnosis ability. Athleticism shows in coverage being able to sink his hips, change directions, and plant/drive on the ball. Tough to block, he's able to slip past opponents with quick hands and lateral movement on his way to the ball carrier. Great motor in pursuit with the speed to chase all over the field.
