Below you will find a handful of prospects who, I thought, had eye-catching film that popped. Their performance and caliber of prospect vary; however, they all share one thing in common - an distinguishable trait on film that proves they are a refined, high quality prospect worth being on the radar of college football programs.

In recent memory, Boonton has been home to shorter prospects who can really stretch the field with their speed. Add [player_tooltip player_id='1955333' first='Kali' last='Polanco']'s name to that list. At receiver Polanco is a hard runner who tracks the ball over his shoulder very well. Additionally, we see him use his hands to catch the ball and never the body. At moments it looks as though Polanco is shot out of a cannon, making me think that he is the type of receiver you must press and be physical with at the line of scrimmage. Sacrificing his body is not an issue, as Polanco will make diving catches and jostle at the top of his route with his opponent for 5050 balls. That said, I think Polanco is more physical than I expected. Overall, I think he is a sneaky player that manages to slip by you and get open quite often.

An outstanding prospect who started in the secondary of a defending state champion is [player_tooltip player_id='2111935' first='Kane' last='Ramos']. At safety, he will absolutely lay his body into a ball carrier to light them up without hesitation. With power, speed is a part of Ramos' game too, as we see him on tape have enough of it to undercut passes and run in the open field. I thought that as a pass defender he carries his receivers well through zones and to the perimeter, doing so especially well when square to them. As a single high safety Ramos knows to read the quarterback's eyes and move with them. Like the name implies, at safety he cleans a lot of things up as the last-line of defense, both in the run and pass. When rolled down in run support, Ramos fights to maintain his outside leverage, effectively boxing back to his help; all the while being willing to come down hard and crack ball carriers hard - and still have the athleticism to defend hash-to-hash. Ramos is a true, two-way safety that I happen to like a lot.

Out of Waldwick comes [player_tooltip player_id='2044471' first='Luciano' last='Mayer']. Ranked as an athlete, Mayer is a running back who runs low and through the hole. Described as a smart player who rolls/spins out of danger and into the leverage of defenders, he does not give up on plays and looks to finish his runs as he plays through the whistle. Grit is a part of his game too, as we see him willing to stick his nose in a hole and bounce out of it should it be filled. Mayer also has balance when he runs, not getting tripped up or slung down the ground. His tendency to keep his legs moving and churning through contact allows him to create extra yardage that an average back probably would not. I do, however, want to see him pin the ball to his chest when running through danger. Also a linebacker, Mayer is comfortable moving in space, reads his gets, and gets to his gap. A very well coached player, he weaponizes his shoulder to make stops.

With an exceptionally quick release and a spin rate that is ungodly, [player_tooltip player_id='943155' first='Lukas' last='Prock'] is the real deal. Getting the ball out of his hands quickly and decisively mitigates the reaction time of defensive backs who try to break on the ball. This, combined with his true, raw arm strength allows for only his receivers to really have a play on the ball. Prock is extremely impressive when throwing on the run, often dropping dimes as he throws in mid-air while moving. What is most impressive about this ability of his is that he is capable of doing so in every direction with outstanding velocity on the throw. As such, Prock is probably a better athlete than you may initially suspect. On tape, more so than the vast majority of quarterbacks, we see Prock go through his progressions - and even at certain moments, go back through them when he has enough time. After seeing in live, I opine that Prock is capable of making any throw on the field. It does seem, however, that he plays a bit more freestyle than you initially would think or suspect.

Coming out of Becton is [player_tooltip player_id='1939195' first='Mal'Akai' last='Johnson']. Johnson is an unorthodox two-way player who plays receiver and defensive line. As a pass catcher, Johnson has the speed to get behind defenders and the smarts to stack/cap them once behind them; all the while he also has whole-field vision to create space and run away from defenders at will. As a redzone target he plays and catches the fade ball with ease, while also using his size to put forth a solid effort blocking along the perimeter - sometimes working his matchup into the sideline. Off the edge, we see him win with speed.

There is a lot to like about [player_tooltip player_id='1939958' first='Malachi' last='Mills']' game. As an edge player, Mills has a solid get off and works to get his hands above his eyes. That said, he plays too high at times that, despite working to achieve this posture, he makes this difficult on himself and will find more success lowering his pad level. Athletically, he checks many boxes. We see him redirect and pursue well, even when he gets caught sniffing inside and abandoning his rush lane. Playing mostly upright off the edge, Mills knows how to get inside and squeeze oncoming blockers, while scraping the backside extremely well.
