PRZPA Team Previews: Council Rock South Golden Hawks

The Council Rock South Golden Hawks enter the 2026 season looking to build on a tremendous 2025 campaign in which they finished 10-2 overall and 7-0 in the Suburban One League Continental Conference. Head coach CJ Szydlik takes the program into another season with the challenge of maintaining that momentum while developing the next wave of Golden Hawks talent. Council Rock South will face another demanding schedule that includes Perkiomen Valley, Pennridge, Souderton, Quakertown, Upper Dublin, Bensalem, Plymouth-Whitemarsh, and rival Council Rock North. The Golden Hawks' success will depend on replacing key production from last year's roster while giving emerging prospects opportunities to establish themselves. With a program coming off a 10-win season, expectations will be high entering the fall. The physicality and competitive depth developed during the previous campaign should provide a strong foundation for another postseason push. Several young players will have the opportunity to elevate their recruiting profiles as they take on expanded roles against quality District 1 competition. Expect Council Rock South to enter 2026 with confidence, toughness, and plenty to prove as the Golden Hawks look to establish themselves as a perennial contender in the Suburban One League.

[player_tooltip player_id='2325895' first='Andrew' last='Maertzig'] is an emerging defensive lineman who brings toughness and a developing physical presence to the Golden Hawks' front.
