Expert Analysis
Vic Castillo | Prep Redzone Scout
- A sturdy 5’11, 225-pound 2027 linebacker out of Council Rock South (PA) with good size already in place for his senior year.
I appreciate Myers tagging me in his weekly Hudl highlights. He first caught my attention back in early September with an 11 tackle performance that included three tackles for loss. Last week, despite a Week 3 loss, Myers put together yet another double digit tackle night. He is a senior linebacker who is currently unranked, and I applaud his promptness in getting single game cutups onto Hudl. There are more than two minutes of tape to dig into throughout his first three games.
Myers is a tough kid who does not mind burying his facemask into blockers to clog running lanes. He has a few reps playing outside the box, whether in pass coverage, dropping into zone or aligning outside the tackles and looking to set the edge against the run. He primarily looks to align between the C gaps presnap in a traditional Mike inside linebacker role and can be viewed as your traditional run stopping inside linebacker type.
I like that he sprinkles other aspects of linebacker play into his tape as well. Moving forward, I want to see more zone drops, more work defending the seam and more tackles made from hash to hash. The motor is impressive. Myers looks to bring the same aggression in the first quarter that he does in the fourth. He is a tone setter.
