Mt. Pleasant Scrimmage Observations

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Wednesday night brought a lot of talent to mount pleasant high school. Mount Pleasant , Petoskey , Kingsley and Saginaw Swan Valley all brought there talents to the gridiron to square off in a round robin formate and tune there game in as the regular season in officially on the horizon. Connor was an absolute force in the run game. Whether it was 4th and short or the Northman where just looking for a big play they just sent a back of left tackle and Connor blew massive holes for his backs to scamper through. on one play Connor washed down the defensive end and left a gapping hole for the back to run through leading to a 40 plus yard run. I was also impressed with Connor in pass protection situations. Conner used an excellent kick and solid hand placement to neutralize oncoming pass rushes. I was impressed with Perry's vision and balance. Though on limited carries due to Kingsley wanting to get multiple players looks. Perry ran the ball hard and showed very good power from his running back spot. On multiple plays Perry was hit near the line of scrimmage but was able to bounce off the hit and fight for additional yards. Perry also showed very good speed and he was able to get to the second level in a hurry and put a lot of pressure on safety's to come up and make a play. Xavier split reps as the coaches all ready know what they have in Xavier. I was impressed with the senior quarterbacks ability to roll the pocket and throw the ball with excellent accuracy. I was also impressed with Xaviers ability to stand in the pocket and allow plays to develop without panicking. Mount pleasant made a run to ford field last year and Xavier is going to want to finish what they started last year. Luke showed excellent versatility lining up all over the Petoskey offense , even lining up at running back. Luke has excellent burst and gets good separation at the top of his routes. Though he was eventually dinged up a bit he left no doubt he will be a big part of what the Northman do this fall and will supply a true home run threat to the team. Swan Valleys bus had some issues which caused them to be a little late but Keller did not let that Deter him from getting the vikings offense going upon arrival. Keller showed he was capable of making all the throws. He stood in the pocket and delivered strikes all over the field. Keller was able to show good zip on out routes and a big arm delivering big plays down the field. I was also pleasantly surprised on how well Keller moved the pocket and deliver accurate throws while on the run. Keller showed he is the real deal and based on Wednesday he is set to torch defenses across the league.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
