KHSAA Week 1 Player Spotlight: South Warren vs. Bryan Station

<p>We are one day closer to Friday Night Lights kicking off across the Bluegrass on Aug. 21. Ahead of opening night, let's take a look at Prep Redzone's No. 1-ranked team this preseason -- South Warren and their matchup against Bryan Station. The game will be played on a neutral site hosted by Lexington Christian Academy as the first game of a doubleheader. </p>   <p>Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. ET.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">South Warren</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1665350' first='Camden' last='Page'] is coming off a successful junior season, having led South Warren to the state title game with a 14-1 record and being named Prep Redzone Kentucky All-State. Page finished the season with a 70.1% completion percentage, 2,343 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and eight interceptions. In a recent scrimmage against Owensboro, Page impressed with his abilities sensing pressure and rolling out, as well as his accuracy on the run and fitting the ball into tight windows. Based on his performance, he's looking to pick back up where his team left off in 2025. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Takyon "TK" Darden is a hybrid LB/DB prospect who excels in run-stopping and gap-filling. Last season, he logged one forced fumble and subsequent recovery, as well as 3.0 sacks. Darden is an aggressive middle linebacker who has proven his ability to defend effectively in both man and zone coverage. In pass coverage, he's able to get his hand between the ball and receiver, can jump routes, and initiate contact to jar the football free before the opposing receiver secures the ball. Darden will look to make the most out of the 2026 season and could set the tone in a big way in Week 1 against the Defenders. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">A lot of running backs at this level aren't as patient as [player_tooltip player_id='1617744' first='Jamir' last='Boards'] when he's following his blocks. Boards is shifty, though, and once he hits open space, he can jab-step, hesitate, and make defenders miss. Boards has great vision out of the backfield. He waits for holes to open up rather than bounce to the outside for a potential loss. He enters his junior season having logged 78 carries for 581 yards and seven touchdowns last year. That's good for an explosive 7.4 yards per carry as he looks to build on his success in 2026.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bryan Station</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='378835' first='Jordan' last='Haskins'] is an elite defensive back prospect who is already committed to Louisville ahead of his senior season. The consummate defensive back and leader of the Bryan Station defense, Haskins can do it all as a ball-hawking pass coverer in zone and man defense. He earned three interceptions in nine games last season while also playing all over the field, even quarterbacking on offense. Haskins provides great energy on both sides of the football and is the kind of player who elevates his teammates' play when he's on the field with them. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='871924' first='Jeremiah' last='Moore'] is a big body in the trenches who can control the line of scrimmage and move his man to create gaps for his running back and lead blockers. Moore proved himself vicious at the point of attack on multiple occasions last season, blocking through the play and completely taking the defender out of the play. He plays all over the offensive line and is powerful enough that he can move his man into the second level of the defense by himself. South Warren will have their hands full with him blocking the A and B gaps.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Now at Bryan Station after transferring over from Tates Creek, [player_tooltip player_id='1610710' first='Shawn' last='Taylor'] is a head-hunting middle linebacker who will be a fantastic addition to the Defenders' defense in 2026. Taylor is excellent in blitz packages and has great timing and discipline when looking to break through the offensive line. Taylor angles himself well when pursuing the ball carrier, putting himself in excellent position to make a play on any given down. He enters his senior season having logged 63 tackles and 2.0 tackles for loss in 2025. He was limited to eight games last season.</p>    <p></p>
