Instant Recap: GAC vs North Hall

P4 commits, experienced QBs, and youngsters introducing themselves is what drew my attention from this 28-21 GAC win. Here is a look at top performers.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">GAC</h2>    You aren't going to see it on the box score, but [player_tooltip player_id='2133132' first='Tyler' last='Younger'] absolutely wrecked this game. He was unblockable, seemingly catching the edge on every play, and even battling through double and triple teams. It felt like everything North Hall did was to keep Younger out of the game, which, to be fair, paid off. Regardless, Younger is a truly impressive blend of traits, but he impressed me with his motor and "want to" yesterday. If he can continue to play with that level of energy, he will find the field at Alabama.     Wilson is the top playmaker offensively for GAC and is emerging as an RB name to know in the 2028 class. He gets plenty of opportunities with the ball in his hands, as a rusher, receiver, and even returner. He is an explosive back who runs behind his pads and welcomes contact. He has the speed to lift off in space, but I loved his patience. He kept his feet active, kept climbing, and kept negative plays to a minimum.     Hughes was the most dynamic YAC option on either side of the field. He didn't get many opportunities to flash that aspect of his game, but he was on the receiving end of a broken-play TD in the first half. He played both ways and was actually extremely solid at DB. He fired downhill hard and delivered heavy contact, especially for a lighter prospect. Hughes is an impact player for this team and will continue to be called on.     Janczak was an all-region performer last year as a freshman and is off to a hot start to year 2. He is built beyond his years on a strong, sturdy 6'0 185 frame. He is a downhill, hard-nosed player who proved he can strike and generate loud contact. He made perhaps the biggest momentum-swinging play of the day, putting his helmet on the ball to knock it out, resulting in a scoop and score. Janczak is absolutely someone that D1 coaches should monitor.     It was a steady performance for Ohuabunwa, and about what I expected out of him. Similar to Younger, the traits and speed proved overwhelming when pursuing the ball and battling at the POA, but it was his patience that really stood out to me. He was an urgent, yet under-control pursuer of the football who was impossible to outangle. His range and sideline-to-sideline speed will be what helps him make his mark at Florida State, and this was a good preview of that.     An injury and a few picks certainly linger here, but I saw what I needed to see from Miller. He is a stout, strong player who is actually bigger than I expected. He is a capable passer who made some nice touch throws on the move, but his game is rounded out by his athleticism and what he can do with his legs. He has truly impressive suddenness, proving capable of stopping on a dime. He is a tough runner, which I saw when he put his head down and willed his way into the end zone to score in the first half.     I got word earlier in the week that Aukerman might enter this game, but I'm sure this isn't exactly how that was drawn up. He was thrown into a tie game late, and while things certainly looked fast at first, he settled in and led a game-winning TD drive, calling game with his legs at the 14-second mark. GAC coaches believe they have a potential national prospect on their hands at QB, and playing your best when your team needs you the most is a great way to validate those claims.    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">North Hall</h2>    Schlieman was dodging pressure all night, and all things considered, I actually thought he did a really good job. He was forced to create, and he did, often stepping up and out to avoid pressure while keeping his eyes downfield. We know he has plenty of horsepower on his throws, but I thought it was good to see him in an environment where he was forced to make plays. He did so without putting the ball in harm's way. Another side to his game flashed here.     North Hall needed some life trailing 21-7 at halftime, so Steele put the offense on his back and grinded out 2 scoring drives to tie the game. He is a lean, strong player who played with a physical brand of football, nothing was fancy about it, consistently getting tough yards and walking away as the top performer offensively for North Hall.     Lindlief went home last night on the heels of the game of his life, coming away with 3 INTs, and actually having another one ruled an incomplete pass. Right place at the right time is the perfect cliché to describe how he played last night. He hid in passing windows and ended several long GAC drives. He flashed some athleticism as well, breaking one off for a near pick-six, and climbing the ladder to pluck two above the rim. It's hard to have a better night as a DB than Lindlief did last night.     If you want to find a youngster to buy stock in on North Hall, look no further than [player_tooltip player_id='1506254' first='Noah' last='Kemp']. He's got some QB in his background, but flashes as a utility player. He caught passes, had a rushing TD, and frequently got involved on defense. He is a stout, strong player who has grown up quickly and has veteran-level snaps as just a sophomore.
