Class of ’29 QB Prospects Looking to Establish Themselves

Carey has a quick release when throwing the football. He has a strong arm, so he doesn't have to load up for deep throws downfield and risk hindering his timing and release. He has dual-threat abilities, which help him avoid pressure in the pocket. If he has to roll out, Carey keeps his focus on his receivers downfield and has demonstrated accuracy when throwing on the run. Stutler is very accurate, especially on deep throws, where he's demonstrated on multiple occasions that he can place the ball over a receiver's back shoulder and in tight windows where only his receiver can grab it. In nine games as a freshman, Stutler threw 68 passes for 615 yards with six touchdowns and two interceptions. He's an old-school quarterback who plays effectively under center, can sell fakes to the running backs, and drops back for passes while avoiding pressure in the pocket. Most quarterbacks at this level play out of the shotgun or pistol, but Steward's comfort level in his offense lends itself to his success on the football field. Steward is effective in dual-threat situations and is a downhill runner who can beat defenders with his feet, but also welcomes contact one-on-one in the trenches. His mobility allows him to be strong and accurate on the run. As the team's freshman quarterback in 2025, Jacobson proved himself to be a fantastic athlete with the speed and agility to beat entire defenses with his legs alone. Throwing the football, Jacobson is impressive under pressure, not only avoiding defenders looking to make a sack, but also keeping the play alive with his athleticism while keeping his eyes downfield to pass. Jacobson rolls out quite a bit, but always sets his hips and steps into his throws to improve his accuracy. Duckwall has proven to be able to throw the ball into tight windows and over/around defenders looking to make a play on the ball. He's also shown his dual-threat abilities and has shown maturity when directing option plays. When he does run with the ball, Duckwall holds the ball high and tight. He doesn't dance around his defenders, but welcomes contact. Duckwall has an impressive pump fake and has, on more than one occasion, used it to catch a defender off guard while his receiver slips free.
