2029 ND Rankings Q/A: Ahead of Release

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We roll out a similar series here in North Dakota with the release of the 2029 rankings in the coming days with a little Q/A as I answer questions about this roll out of the updated 2029 class in North Dakota.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Q: Which newcomers have shown the most growth on this defensive side of the ball?</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Nate:</strong> The two names that come to find both come from the defensive line group,, <strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='2204185' first='Giovanni' last='Henry']</em></strong> of West Fargo Sheyenne and EDGE rusher <strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='1630941' first='Elijah' last='Johnson']</em></strong> of Fargo Davies. Both have been camp standouts this summer, especially Elijah who has gotten on our radar at a few camps this summer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Q: Which position group do you have a "wait and see" grade on in this 2029 class defensively?</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Nate:</strong> Oddly enough in both of the Dakotas, the <strong>linebacker spot</strong> is where I have the most wait and sees with this 2029 class. This group doesn't have a lot of readily available game tape thus far so finding a locked in favorite in the top spot is tough to find at the moment. A couple names of intrigue are <strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='2262840' first='Carter' last='Johnsrud']</em></strong> of Hazen and <strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='2262857' first='Raider' last='Barstad']</em></strong> of Velva-Drake-Annamoose.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Q: Do you see any changes to the the top 5?</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Nate: </strong>Yes, although nobody is likely going to move Ray-Powers Lake wide receiver <strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='1740349' first='Ty' last='Barman']</em></strong> off the #1 overall spot, but the rest of the top 5 should look a little different. The only other prospect that has an offer thus far in this class outside of [player_tooltip player_id='1740349' first='Ty' last='Barman'] is quarterback <em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2158902' first='Colton' last='Fosher']</strong></em> of West Fargo Horace, who you should should see in that top 5 group. Hopefully for the <strong><em>Fargo South Bruins</em></strong> this means that their feeder programs can help them develop into a strong force in 11AA over these next few years, as they'll have a lot of underclassmen getting quality varsity reps early in their careers which will help like <strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='1655671' first='Rayshaun' last='Barrera']</em></strong>,<strong style="font-style: italic"> [player_tooltip player_id='1656356' first='Davian' last='Lewis']</strong> and <strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='1655672' first='Jaxon' last='Keller'] </em></strong>amongst others.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Q: Deepest Offensive Position?</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Right now the wide receiver group looks the most impressive to me. Obviously, we could talk all day about Ray-Powers Lake's <strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='1740349' first='Ty' last='Barman']</em></strong>, but Fargo Shanley's <strong><em>Alex Medinger</em></strong> is a sleeper that folks are going to want to know about quickly out of Fargo Shanley, as I saw him at the ND Grind 7v7 tryout and he looked like the best all-around WR in attendance and blended in with the upperclassmen group really well. Minot has a couple wide receiver targets in the 2029 class with <strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='1741136' first='Grant' last='Bedell']</em></strong> and <strong><em>Mac Bollinger</em> </strong>as well both with encouraging size.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
