On Saturday, June 27, 2026 Prep Redzone Next was back-in-action in Jackson, New Jersey, as they hosted "The Rize." A double-session prospect showcase, this event drew middle school prospects from all across the country to see how they stacked up against their national counterparts. Each prospect was personally hand-selected by middle school guru Al Pops to compete and attend.

As per usual, I attended and report to you my positional notes for the position group referenced in the title of this article. My evaluations are through the lens of a high school coach and talent evaluator.

Be sure to follow me on Twitter for the latest New Jersey high school football prospect news and not miss a beat!

Making the quick trip up I-95 was Dallas Smith. Accustomed to New Jersey, Smith showed that he reacts to what is in front of him very well. During indy when he was participating in cut drills, he would often beat his position-mate to the spot and have to wait for them to make a cut, to which he was to respond to. Despite being there first, he did a great job of quickly reacting - meaning his eyes, mind, and body all fire quickly to what is happening in front of him.

Based solely on his performance, I was impressed with Blake Gibson; I was then over the top about Gibson's future prospects when I learned he was just a rising 8th grader. Gibson has the size to succeed - bigger than many 2029 graduates (current freshman) and is fundamentally sound. I remarked how Gibson focused on protecting the ball, especially when he went to finish. This combination bodes well for him.

Coming out of the Empire State, Danny Guerrera is headed to Monsignor Farrell in Staten Island. The one rep of Guerrera's that I managed to catch was during the competition phase of the event. Running a vertical route out of the backfield, Guerrera proved to be a sneaky-savvy route runner. At the top of his route, Guerrera won with the most subtle of push offs to create separation. I caught it because my eyes were on him for that rep, but would an official?

A powerful, stout prospect that came from not-all-that-far was Donovan Catholic-bound [player_tooltip player_id='1196450' first='Carmelo' last='Foendoe']. I liked his size and build, and suspect that he may be a strong between-the-tackles runner. Should this be the case, Foendoe is advised to pin the ball to his body. I thought that when he was running with the rock, it was a bit too far "out there" as he worked. Ball security is a running back's number 1 priority.

The MVP of his youth team, [player_tooltip player_id='2076846' first='Dimere' last='Britton'] his a running back that has natural ability. Size, speed, quickness, and moves are all presently a part of Britton's repertoire. One thing I noticed about his game, however, was that when he makes his cuts his body expands, thus making his contactable surface area larger. In other words, Britton his giving opposing defenders more of himself to tackle. Because it is reported that Britton is headed to Union City to be a Soaring Eagle, whether it be a wing back or a full back in the Wing T offense, a more disciplined approach to running the ball will be instilled upon him, accentuating Britton's natural abilities and allowing him to shine.

The Rize Event Coverage

Defensive Line, Part 1
Offensive Line, Part 1
Quarterbacks, Part 1
Running Backs, Part 1
