The State Finalist are returning after an incredible season last year, dominating on both sides of the field and allowing their players to thrive in a great system. The Panthers went 13-3, going 6-1 in district play. During the playoff run, this team averaged 44 points a game while only allowing 22 points, only giving up 13 total points in the first three rounds on the way to their first state appearance. The Panthers will be returning 6 starters on offense and 8 defensive starters. Though losing key players from last years run, this team has reloaded and will be looking to replicate the success of this past season.

Players to know offensively for this high-powered team include 2028-standout athlete, [player_tooltip player_id='1584794' first='Dillon' last='Mitchell']. The speedster and uber-talented playmaker is back after leading the team in receiving last season with 867 yards and 9 touchdowns on 40 catches. He also added 363 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns to his total numbers. Mitchell jumped onto the scene and has not looked backed, racking up 36 offers and only continuing to better his game. Senior receiver and Iowa State-commit [player_tooltip player_id='1752192' first='Braylon' last='Lane'] is another player with the ability to dictate a game with his size and strength at the position. He will look to have a bounce back year and show why he is one of the top names in the area. Senior receiver and slot technician Josh Hays, who put up 351 yards and 4 touchdowns receiving, is a player to watch as well as 2028 receiver Joshua Blanco. This will be an incredibly loaded receiving group with experience and talent.

The offensive line will be anchored by the two tackles. 6'3, 315 pound senior [player_tooltip player_id='2183923' first='Ethan' last='Guillory'] and junior First Team selection, [player_tooltip player_id='1669584' first='George' last='Perez']. Both are physical, tenacious blockers who live to pancake opponents and spring free their teammates by clearing a path. Guillory is an exceptional puller and will ear-hole unexpecting defenders. Perez straight-up manhandles defenders, driving them out of the play. These two will set the tone up front and will be a important factors in the run game success once again.

In the backfield, the Panthers get senior running back Antwon Sanders back who rushed for 769 yards and 10 touchdowns last season. The Cal-commit is a physical back who also possesses the speed to break free in the open field. This team also brings in Georgia Tech-commit, senior back Triston Willis who also ran for over 700 yards with 9 touchdowns last season for Shadow Creek. This has the potential to be one of the best backfields not only in the area but in the state.

Leading the way will be new addition senior quarterback, UTSA-commit [player_tooltip player_id='1903964' first='Khylan' last='Davis']. The dual-threat play-creator will be in charge of spear-heading this potent offense, and that brings an entirely different dimension to this team. 2,428 passing yards with a 27:7 touchdown to interception ratio, while adding 1,218 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns, Davis elevates the play of any offense he is in and the sky is the limit for this one.

https://twitter.com/TheKhylanDavis/status/1987595168934166983?s=20

https://twitter.com/GeorgeLevPerez/status/2032652356911796354?s=20

https://twitter.com/AntwonSanders11/status/2007269858271174748?s=20

The defense will be headlined by senior linebacker and tackle leader form last season, Damian Broussard. He tallied 112 tackles with 11 TFLs, displaying great sideline to sideline speed and a knack for locating the ball. Next to him, senior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='2147731' first='Xavier' last='Williams'] is back, racking up 63 tackles and 10 TFLs last season. The 6'3, 200 active backer has shown comfortability in coverage and closing in on the ball near the line of scrimmage. Junior defensive end [player_tooltip player_id='2212728' first='Royce' last='Houston'] will be a player to watch on this defense. Strong and physical at the point of attack, Houston can control the edge and collapse pockets in a hurry. The secondary will be one of the strongest groups of this team. Safeties [player_tooltip player_id='1879418' first='Enoch' last='Bell'] and Kai'dryn Edmonds are key pieces to the scheme. Bell recorded 88 tackles with 5 forced fumbles and 12 PBUs. Edmonds led the team with 5 interceptions and 9 PBUs. Both can play near the line of scrimmage in the box or survey the field from the secondary. Senior corner Mykah Laster is back as well after an impressive junior season which included 4 interceptions and 10 PBUs. The addition of junior three star defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1085734' first='Cordey' last='Sherman'] will also add to the chest of talent. The defense is loaded at all three levels and bring back many guys from the state run to lead the way.

https://twitter.com/rhouston2028/status/2010482687270592878?s=20

https://twitter.com/KeidrynEdmond27/status/2003561478696370629?s=20

https://twitter.com/TheXavierWill/status/2050025768730743057?s=20

Coach Laxen had an incredible first year and will look to capitalize off of the success from last season. This team is built for an incredible run from top to bottom. The experience is there, they have reloaded at positions needed, and are led by some incredibly talented players. The Panthers are primed for another deep playoff run with the goal of winning state this time. They have been there, they know what it takes to get there, now its time to finish the job. The CE King Panthers will be a force to see on Friday nights this season.

CE King Panther Schedule
