The Rams enter this season with the hopes of capitalizing on competitive play last season. The finished with a 4-6 record, going 3-5 in an incredibly difficult district, but showing the capability of going toe-to-toe with anybody. Two of the losses were one possession games where the opponent just had a little more in the tank. The Rams lose a great amount of talent on both sides of the ball but return some key playmakers who can help guide the team in the right direction.

[player_tooltip player_id='1248017' first='Chad' last='Nelson'], senior receiver and star athlete returns as the go-to guy in offense. He led the team last season in receiving, hauling in 27 catches for 496 yards and 4 touchdowns, but the stats do not reflect his impact. The Tulsa commit makes plays. He is explosive in the open field and can win at all levels while also being a threat out of the backfield. Junior athlete Stanley Dorsey will be a name to follow as well. He steps in as another electric weapon at receiver who can make the game easier for his quarterback. Junior tight-end Tristan Schwartz will be a player to watch out for. Dominant in the run game, combo blocking and getting to linebackers in a hurry last season, Schwartz will have a chance to show what he has worked on all off-season. He is a versatile threat who loves to put opponents in the ground but with a new quarterback, Schwartz may get the opportunity to show the hands off some more. At the quarterback position, junior Dominic Mosely gets his chance to shine. With an offense who struggled to air out the ball last season, Mosely can come in and immediately be a difference maker. With excellent talent surrounding him, Mosely is put in a great spot to succeed. High hopes for Mosely and what he can bring to elevate the Rams offense.

The defense is led by senior standout linebacker, Christian "CJ" Arogbonlo. A guy who flies to the ball and wants in on every play. The heart of the defense who has stood strong for many seasons. Last season Arogbonlo tallied over 100 tackles, 16 TFLs, and 5 sacks. He is an active backer who sets the tone for the defense. Senior defensive end Donovan Steen will be a name to follow as well, looking to replicate the defensive pressure of seasons past. In the secondary, senior corner Jaidun James will be a player to watch. He along with junior defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='2155723' first='Braylen' last='Pullings'] are guys who will bring that experience and lead with their play on the outsides.

The Rams are a team who are knocking on the door in the district. Yes they lose some incredible talent but the philosophy and mindset does not change with Coach Arogbonlo at the helms. The defense will be stout. They will fight and show that they can close out games. The offense will need to bounce back and be as good as they can be, starting up front. Get the ball to the playmakers and let them work. With the players they have and the moments they experienced last season, the Mayde Creek Rams should be a team on a mission to prove to the area they can be contenders.
