Six Tailbacks Fighting for Their Futures This Fall

Based on junior year film, these prospects are graded out to project interest coming from programs as high as Division II. Senior year will be critical. Could be more aptly described as an all purpose back. Slashes to the line and through the seams with good feet and vision attacking the openings. Has some wiggle out in space. Good hands as a receiver and flashes the ability to extend for the ball completely away from his frame to make the catch. Competitive with the ball on the run past the line of scrimmage or after the catch fighting for yards and negotiating defenders. Finished 2025 with 21 REC, 493 YDS, 4 TD and 16 CAR, 115 YDS, 1 TD. With no reported offers, looking for Byers to have a big senior year and put himself on the map. Handles classroom business with a 3.7 GPA.     Multi-sport athlete with play history in hoops and track & field. Won bronze in the Class 4 triple jump in 2026 with a PR distance of 13.74m. Has a 100m PR of 12.02, roughly translating a 40 time in the 4.7 range, and qualified for the postseason in the long jump. 2025 was a breakout year that finished 246 CAR, 1343 YDS, 13 TD, 2 REC TD, earned Second Team All Conference honors. Listed 5110 182. Decent athlete with some initial burst and speed, the triple jump explosion shows up on tape. Very good awareness downfield, navigates traffic well, has MYM shake to him. More quick and explosive than all out fast. Tough to bring down with the wiggle, runs hard, good contact balance especially for size. Has good playmaking potential for these mid-tier programs at the college level.     Webb is a big back with technically and fundamentally sound stuff on tape, and therefore is a fun watch. Measured in at 5100 224 at Lindenwood in June, tested 5.08x40. Track times give a better speed perspective, as he ran a PR 12.14 100m in 2025, and reportedly improved that to 11.7 this spring, translating to a 4.7-4.8 range time at 224. Classic power back size and build, beefed up, runs behind his pads, runs physical, defenders get ran over or stiff armed to the ground. Good contact balance, keeps feet moving. Utilized out of the backfield in the passing game. Active in the blocking game, shows up in pass pro, likely key to his value moving forward. Good position specific skillset. Has NAIA offers, and the talent to draw interest from the mid-level programs. Reports a 3.0 GPA in the classroom.     Two-sport athlete that runs sprints and holds a 12.1 100m PR from this past spring. Carries the ball and also returns kicks. Only played three games in 2025, so his grade is projection and potential dependent, but he still shows some good things on limited tape. Quick and shifty, has some good lateral twitch, finds his way through tight seams, good with the ball in the open field, has some creativity to him. The athletic traits and the flashes are enough to have him on watch lists, and production this fall to affirm those flashes should attract the interest. He is one to watch. Wilson reports a 3.3 GPA.     Two-way player at RB/DB. Checked in at 5110 189 at Lindenwood in June, tested 4.81x40, 9'5bj, 27.4vj. Finished 2025 with 846 total yards, 11 TD, 47 TKL, 6 PBU, 2 INT, 1 FF. Solid player with position versatility. Most assuredly ends up on the offensive side of the ball at the next level. Has a straight up running style, carries the ball hard and aggressively, physical on contact. Very much a north-south type runner. Has a collection of lower level offers currently, with a chance to draw options from mid-level programs this fall if he continues to show elevation in performance.     Two-sport athlete that competes in the 400m and long jump. Versatile athlete that plays multiple positions but the best film projects him in the backfield. Foot in the ground guy that is good at the line of scrimmage athletically. Active behind the line trying to find the holes to run through. Space and open field guy. Laterally quick and shifty, can make you miss in a phone booth, and often multiple defenders miss on a single play. Unafraid of contact and will initiate physicality. Lacks the long speed but can find space and create something out of nothing, at times finding positive gains out of a muddy backfield situation.
