As we head into the month of July, the 2025 high school football offseason is in full swing and the regular season is quickly approaching. With that in mind, we have begun a new wave of rankings updates in the state of Kentucky. To start things up in this round of updates, we have officially released our updated Top 125 players in the class of 2029. With these updates being published, I will be taking some time to break them down by position. To kick things off, here are our top quarterbacks in the class of 2029 in the state of Kentucky.

[player_tooltip player_id='1686505' first='Anthony' last='Davis'] shined in his first season as the starting quarterback for the Purples, completing 142/219 passes for 1,971 yards, 21 touchdowns, and four interceptions in 12 games. Davis puts a ton of zip behind his passes which helps with his accuracy as he is able to fit passes into tight windows with ease before opposing defensive backs can react. He has also shown the ability to lead his receivers down the field and hit them in stride in the deep passing game. Anthony also scored one rushing touchdown as a freshman. Davis holds offers from Louisville and Eastern Kentucky, and I wouldn't be surprised to see more come his way this summer.

While he played in a backup role last season, [player_tooltip player_id='1686543' first='Cole' last='Presswood'] was very impressive when his number was called. In nine games, he completed 27/46 passes for 304 yards, seven touchdowns, and one interception. Presswood has a strong arm which he uses to stretch the field with ease in the deep passing game. He has also shown the ability to put a nice amount of touch on his passes, putting them in a spot where only his intended receiver has a chance to catch the ball. Cole currently holds offers from Murray State, Nicholls State, Eastern Kentucky, and UT-Martin, and I expect a lot of eyes to be on him as he takes over as the starter this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1145692' first='Jayden' last='Guzman'] took over as the starter for the Broncos as a freshman and had a strong first year, completing 106/189 passes for 1,228 yards, 14 touchdowns, and four interceptions in 13 games. Guzman is an accurate passer, showing the ability to get the ball out of his hands quickly to hit his receivers out of their breaks with ease. He has also shown the ability to roll outside the pocket when necessary while keeping his eyes down the field to make throws on the run. Jayden currently holds an offer from Grambling State and I can see more coming his way as he continues to develop.

[player_tooltip player_id='1756938' first='Bryce' last='Armstrong'] served as his team's backup quarterback last season but he still put together some very impressive film. As a freshman, he completed 12/22 passes for 208 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception in seven games. Armstrong has the arm strength to make all the downfield throws he is asked to along with the ball placement to lead his receivers away from opposing defensive backs. While he was used as a backup quarterback last season, he was also utilized at other positions as a freshman, scoring one rushing touchdown, catching three touchdown passes, and also coming away with an interception on defense. Bryce holds offers from Austin Peay State and Southern, and I expect more to come his way as he takes on the starting role this season.

To wrap up our top five quarterbacks in the class of 2029 in the state of Kentucky, I have [player_tooltip player_id='1884262' first='Eli' last='Jarrell']. Eli is coming off a strong freshman year in which he completed 144/238 passes for 1,935 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 11 games. Jarrell is impressive under pressure, showing the ability to escape the pocket when needed as well as the ability to stand tall in the pocket and deliver passes while taking on contact. He also has the arm strength to stretch the field in the deep passing game. Jarrell also showed some true dual-threat ability as a freshman, carrying the ball 96 times for 499 yards and 15 touchdowns. Eli is a player who I expect college coaches to have their eyes on over the next few seasons.
