2028 Linebackers Ready to Make Noise This Season

Class of 2028 is starting to build a strong group of linebackers, and this season will be a big opportunity for many of them to make their names known. Whether it's flying downhill to stop the run, making plays in coverage, or bringing energy to the defense, this class has plenty of talent worth watching. As the year unfolds, don't be surprised if several of these linebackers become some of the fastest rising prospects in Texas.    Kristopher put together an impressive season with 105 tackles, 34 tackles for loss, nine sacks, and three forced fumbles, proving he can impact the game in multiple ways. He consistently slipping through traffic and disrupting plays in the backfield. He also shows on film what he can do on special teams. On his first rep, he tracks a motion receiver out wide and has no issues carrying him in space, showing comfort in coverage and good awareness when matched up away from the box. He moves well laterally, stays balanced in open field situations, and doesn't get caught out of position when offenses try to create mismatches. He also feels comfortable being able to play with his hand in the dirt and come off the edge. Amir film shows he can make things happen on the defensive side of the ball.      Rhyder is a linebacker I'm excited to see this season at Pieper under new head coach Coach Eddie Salas. You can see flashes of a player who is starting to come into his own. He plays downhill with confidence, isn't afraid to step into contact. His Technique is there, watched rhyder through multiple camps . Cant wait to see how everything looks during the fall. He currently holds offers from Syracuse , UTSA.     Dyke stays patient before attacking, rarely overruns plays, and does a good job sorting through traffic to get himself in position. His ability to scrape across the formation, take on blocks, and limit yards after contact makes him an effective run defender. With 126 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries, his production reflects the steady impact he has on the field. He holds offers from baylor, SMU, sam houston state and more.      Taylor turned plenty of heads during the spring, earning multiple Power Four offers, and his film makes it easy to see why. He plays with great technique and trusts what he sees, and has the range to make plays all over the field. His development has been noticeable, and he's only continued to sharpen his game. As he keeps adding to his skill set, Taylor looks like a linebacker whose best football is still ahead of him, making him a player to watch closely this season. virginia Tech, UNLV, North Texas and more schools offered taylor.      Brady is primarily a linebacker, but he has shown he can be effective when asked to blitz off the edge. He displays good bend turning the corner, allowing him to flatten toward the quarterback and create pressure. As an off ball linebacker, he flows well to the football, plays under control, and does a good job reading plays before attacking downhill. He holds an offer from Texas southern.      Cody finds ways to make impact plays on film. He plays fast, attacks the football with confidence, and has a feel for being in the right place at the right time. Whether he's making a stop behind the line, closing downhill against the run, or creating a momentum changing play, his presence is noticeable. I love how cody use just want to take a head off the field. Thats the type of a player you want on you defense.      Jamerce was one of the most disruptive defenders on the field, finishing with 54 total tackles, 34 solo stops, 15 tackles for loss, seven sacks, and three quarterback hurries. He plays with an aggressive mindset, attacks gaps without hesitation, and creates problems for offenses behind the line of scrimmage. Going into his junior and a whole a lot of film under his belt , i believe his play will become better!      Israel plays with a LB and never hesitates to step into contact. He attacks ball carriers with confidence, delivers strong hits, and finishes tackles with authority. He plays downhill, embraces the physical side of the game, and consistently shows the toughness needed to make plays in traffic. On the first play of his film , a TE was trying to come spill him ; but instead he took on the contact. Israel already has offers from power 5 schools and he's only getting starting.      House wasted no time making an impact. On the very first play of his film, he scooped up a fumble and took it the distance for a touchdown, showing his awareness and ability to capitalize on opportunities. Throughout the rest of his tape, he plays with urgency, flies to the football, and consistently puts himself in position to make game changing plays. His instincts and motor make him a defender who is always around the action. I got the time to watch him at TCU Camp and he showed what type of player he is.      Even with just a minute of film, Omari shows he can get through blockers and still make positive plays on defense. He uses quick hands and effort to fight through contact, staying active at the point of attack. Once he works past traffic, he shows the ability to close on the football and finish plays. His early flashes suggest a player who can impact a defense by staying persistent and finding ways to get to the ball.      Mann stands out for his tackling ability and how he chasing the the ball holder down   . He plays with good urgency, pursues quarterbacks well, and shows the ability to close ground quickly when the play breaks down. In space, he stays controlled, wraps up on contact, and finishes tackles with consistency. I love consistent he is when its time for him to pressure the quarterback.      Ethan shows up on film in limited snaps, but even in a short sample he stands out for his ability to fight through blockers and still finish plays on defense. He keeps his hands active, stays persistent through contact, and doesn't lose focus when traffic builds up in front of him. He's been active in gaining reps and exposure, and that experience is starting to translate into a more confident and physical style of play. He brings toughness to the field, plays with effort from snap to whistle, and shows the willingness to compete in every situation.      Ellis is looking to pick up where he left off and continue building momentum heading into this season. He plays with steady effort, stays active around the football, and shows the ability to contribute in key moments on defense. As he gets more comfortable and gains more experience, he has the chance to expand his impact and take on a bigger role this year. He hold offers from UTEP ,      Jack is a player who contributes at both linebacker and running back, giving his team value on both sides of the ball. Defensively, he plays with effort and physicality, showing the ability to fill gaps, pursue the football, and make stops in space. On offense, he runs with toughness, keeps his legs driving through contact, and looks to finish every carry with positive yards. His ability to impact the game in multiple roles makes him a useful piece in different situations.      Pike is a defensive player who plays with steady effort and a strong presence in the middle of the defense. He reads plays well, reacts quickly downhill, and shows the ability to get to the football in both run support and pursuit. He plays with good effort at the point of attack, uses his hands to stay engaged with blockers, and holds his ground well against the run. When opportunities open up, he shows the ability to work into gaps and disrupt plays in the backfield. He also moves well enough in space to drop back into a more active role behind the line, giving his defense flexibility depending on the situation.      Kru plays with a real downhill trigger and doesn't hesitate once he reads run. He's quick to diagnose anything developing in front of him and gets to his fit point with urgency, rarely letting plays climb to the second level clean.   What stands out most is how active he is once the ball is in motion. He doesn't just arrive he finishes. Strong wrap technique, keeps his feet driving through contact, and consistently drags runners back instead of just slowing them down.      Julian Julian plays with steady awareness and consistently finds himself near the football. He reads run action quickly, takes efficient angles, and arrives under control to finish tackles. He doesn't overrun plays, stays patient before committing, and shows the ability to clean up plays in space. His feel for the game allows him to stay involved snap after snap.      Jeremiah is a physical defender who shows strong intent when attacking the ball carrier. He triggers downhill with confidence, meets runners with force, and wraps up to secure tackles rather than just make contact. Can't wait to see more of Jeremiah this season.      Kaiden Kaiden shows good awareness in how he reads developing plays and reacts once the ball is in motion. He stays active in pursuit, takes smart pursuit paths, and works to close space before the play can extend. He finishes tackles with consistency and rarely takes himself out of position, which keeps him involved throughout the game.      Kaleb is a LB you want your team because he doesn't down from anything. He plays tough , he looks for contact. I love how east kaleb shows his ability he can fill gaps; avoids blockers to tackle defenders. His competitive edge stands out as well. Kaleb holds offer from UTSA, SMU, UTEP.      Johnas playing with a dawg mentality and set the tone with the way he tackles. He shows soild form tackling, consistently getting his head across the ball carrier and finishing with good tackling technique. He's active not only in the tackling but and pass coverage. As he continues to develop, we are excited to see what johnas have to prove this year.      Brayden is a linebacker we will continue to watch this off season heading into the fall camp. On his film last season , he shows great potential to be a good linebacker.     Kade is a h who plays with a relentless motor and closes quickly to the football. He takes good pursuit angles, works through traffic without slowing down. Kade have a great ability to pursue defenders with the ball. He hold 3 offers Idaho, Miami (OH) and Coastal Carolina.
