Ellis is a linebacker who brings a nice combination of tackling ability and the versatility to come off the edge. Watching his film, I like how he attacks the line of scrimmage and looks to make plays before ball carriers can get into open space. He’s comfortable getting after the quarterback and shows the ability to work around blockers when rushing from the outside. Another part of his game that stands out is how he finishes tackles, making sure runners don’t pick up unnecessary yards after contact. During cone and agility drills, Ellis moved fluidly, showing sharp lateral movement and the ability to change direction on a dime while staying balanced

In one-on-one competition, he played fast and reacted quickly to developing plays. He showed the ability to close space with urgency and wasn’t afraid to step up and take on contact at the point of attack. His awareness and effort allowed him to stay involved in every rep.
