We took our second trip of the summer down to my alma mater's stomping grounds, as we were back in attendance for the second UW-Stout Prospect Camp of the summer which had about 80 athletes in attendance getting evaluated by the Blue Devils staff hailing mostly from Wisconsin and Minnesota. After lunch at Log Jam (home of the best wrap I have had on the camp circuit) we dialed up the notebook and went to work trying to find talent that can play at the next-level in Menomonie and we certainly found our share of it just here in Part 1, as we took a look at the live evals on ten prospects that caught our attention.

Isaac was one of the first few offensive linemen that caught me off the eye test. The 6'2 265 pounder out of Delano, showed off well-engaged hands from a pad-level perspective that was an offensive linemen that achieved better reps the more I got to watch. His abiliy to drive leverage into the second level caught my notebook a handful of times from his reps and was especially noted during reps that required double teams, which Isaac consistently was the driving force of those reps I watched. He currently holds one D3 offer thus far, and surely should get more attention in the WIAC and MIAC here in the coming months.

I wrote about Charlie in our preview article for the UW-Stout Prospect Camp as a offensive linemen out of Ashland to watch for and there were certainly some reps where you could see why he was noted ahead of camp. He was one of the quicker setters of his base that I saw amongst the offensive line group and showed off hands that got out quickly into the cusp of the DLs he went up against. He's one that showed some upside during 1v1s, as another offensive linemen that I felt got better throughout the day in the reps I watched and by the end had improved gaining stronger leverage and pad-level against what was a pretty solid DL group. No offers yet, but surely one that I feel could be a good D3 fit to watch for further in the coming months.

Brenton is a 2027 tight end prospect I remember having on my radar last time at the UW-Stout Prospect Camp and stood out in my notebook again yesterday. From what I grasped from his first camp in Menomonie to yesterday's camp is this young man was surely more poised with his route-running ability as I could see some growth being made already this summer. I thought he had some of the better hands and fluid route-running ability out of the tight end group despite not having a whole lot of high school tape out there yet out of Cadott. He's one that could be a senior bloomer that adding more frame could be benefical for him as he enters his senior season, as right now he's somewhat of a hybrid of a WR/TE at the moment.

A 2029 offensive linemen that was in attendance at the UW-Stout Prospect Camp that caught my eyes for a few reps in Menomonie was Northland Pines's [player_tooltip player_id='2130760' first='Chase' last='Seeger']. He's got solid size at his age as the 6'4 235 pounder was one that was intriguing off our intial eye test from camp for his age and size. He's got plenty of time to untap his upside with his footwork in pass-pro, but surely looked more comfortable at the given moment as a run-blocker in the reps I took in on Chase. The first step Chase showed off is also a skillset that I feel has taken a step forward as far as foot speed since his freshmen year ended. Surely one of the Northwoods that I'll have to continue to track his progress with three more football seasons coming under his belt and while already getting varsity action as a freshmen.

Hadyn was another Minnesota 2027 in attendance that I thought flashed in a few different positon groups on Thursday afternoon in Menomonie at the UW-Stout Prospect Camp. The first reps I watched out of Hadyn was with the quarterback group, in which he showed off as one of the top-tier quarterbacks in that group with his quick release, good ball placement that especially popped out on short and intermediate routes. However, the positon fit that I feel makes the most sense next-level wise is at the linebacker positon, as the reps Hadyn put together there were some of the best I saw amongst the linebackers in attendance. His ability to not only attack the hip with well-versed pursuit angles along the edges but add ample physicality on every rep he took with the linebacker group leads further to our projection for Hadyn in the LB spot at the next-level. He was one of very few prospects that caught my attention in muliple position groups which is hard to do in a prospect camp setting. He currently holds just one WIAC offer so far from Stout's biggest rival from the "War on I-94".

TWITTER

Another offensive linemen that caught my attention out of the 2027 group in attendance, is one from right up the road in Colfax in 6'0 250 pounder [player_tooltip player_id='2235493' first='Grant' last='Cook']. Grant wa one that I liked the fluidity he showed off in Menomonie with his hands as one that I feel was battle tested in reps but on most of them he was able to hold his own. Grant was another one that has solid pad-level, good footwork that I felt grew throughout camp, and one that when you turn on his tape from last season at the center position, you should like the first step that this kid has as he's a quicker drawer of downhill violence. Surely one in my eyes that has the tools to play on Saturdays.

Another 2027 prospect that was in attendance at the first UW-Stout Prospect Camp and got on my radar again at the second one too, was La Crosse Central defensive tackle [player_tooltip player_id='2235468' first='Steven' last='Flores']. Steven was another one that I thought showed off development since seeing him at the first camp of the summer, as I thought he was more tight with his agility during the County Fair period and got to the point of attack slightly quicker than what I saw the first time around. He's also one that I felt was quite coachable as he gravituded to better reps the more he was coached up by the UW-Stout coaching staff. Still has some raw ability yet to untap, but surely one that the progression we've seen could eventually lead to an opportunity playing on Saturdays.

Another 2027 defensive linemen that finished in my top-tier in the defensive line group and is a new name to our 2027 radar in Wisconsin, is Cameron's [player_tooltip player_id='2235473' first='Sawyer' last='Ebner']. Sawyer is still a work in progress when it comes to his size and frame, but the reps I watched in Menomonie seemed to keep progressing forward throughout the day. Sawyer showed off a well-versed get off with his first step and I could feel the growth he made with his powering hands the more reps I got to watch in Menomonie. He also was well-versed as far as his pad-level for his size as Sawyer had well-engaged hands against mostly bigger competition. He logged 95 tackles as a junior at Cameron and is one that has some position flexibility that could be unleashed for college coaches at the next-level.

LB MVP

Another MVP out of this group at their position came from an underclassmen in the linebacker group which was Boyceville 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='2154245' first='Beau' last='Dawson'], another one we noted in our UW-Stout preview right ahead of yesterday's prospect camp in Menomonie. I said it when I watched his tape yesterday and it was even more evident when I got my live eval on Beau, that I really like this kid's football IQ. He boosted the instincitve vison I was looking forward to seeing and was pretty on point with how square he was on his pursuit angles against the RBs in attendance on a consistent basis. The high motor was evident from Beau during camp as a 2028 linebacker you need to know out of Western Wisconsin for sure.

DL MVP

My nod for DL MVP at the UW-Stout Prospect Camp yesterday went to East Ridge 2027 defensive linemen [player_tooltip player_id='1577844' first='Lucas' last='Nordstrom']. It didn't take long to identify that Lucas was the alpha in the DL group, as his quickness and violence he showed getting off blocks early set the tone for what I saw most of the afternoon yesterday in Menomonie. Lucas showed consistently how effective he was with his pass-rush moves in all the reps I watched as his authoritative hands were effective inside and outside against the OL group as again, there was not a DL prospect in attendance with more violence and physicality with their hands than Lucas. He's one that doesn't have his first offer yet, but man he certainly should soon as I am very surprised it hasn't happened yet this late in June.
