I wrote about Charlie in our preview article for the UW-Stout Prospect Camp as a offensive linemen out of Ashland to watch for and there were certainly some reps where you could see why he was noted ahead of camp. He was one of the quicker setters of his base that I saw amongst the offensive line group and showed off hands that got out quickly into the cusp of the DLs he went up against. He’s one that showed some upside during 1v1s, as another offensive linemen that I felt got better throughout the day in the reps I watched and by the end had improved gaining stronger leverage and pad-level against what was a pretty solid DL group. No offers yet, but surely one that I feel could be a good D3 fit to watch for further in the coming months.

One of the first offensive linemen that I pulled up tape on this afternoon, is Ashland 2027 Charlie Heipel Charlie Heipel 6'0" | 255 lbs | OL/DL Ashland | 2027 State WI which the first look should surely catch any college coaches attention as this kid wastes no time showing off the nasty I want to see in the offensive trenches with his hands. The 6’1 260 pounder boosts solid pad-level and is a quick driver of leverage into the second level on a persistent basis. He’s also got more fire in this first step than you might think as there’s a lot of fluid movement that winds thru his feet quickly. Surely ANOTHER sleeper out of Ashland that has got on a PRZ scouts radar this week.
