Recruiting Report (6/1)- Latest Offers and Commitments

We're back with a new Recruiting Report!   Today, we're diving into some recent news across the state. These prospects have had huge months, so we're diving into all the latest surrounding their recruitment.   As always, make sure you watch their film below! You won't want to miss out on this kind of talent.    Ty Sellers is a talented freshman RB from St. Paul's Episcopal who's seeing his recruitment open up.   "Sellers is a talented back who plays with impressive speed, acceleration, and physicality out of the backfield. He has an impressive burst with the ball in his hands, and once he's in the open field he has the speed and athleticism outrun every defender in pursuit.   Sellers has also shown some really solid blocking skills. He's a physical blocker who uses his strength and leverage to pave defenders into the dirt and create tons of space for his teammates to capitalize on. I'm really impressed with how well-rounded Sellers is- he's a versatile back with great traits to continue to build on."   Last night, Sellers announced he'd picked up his first offer from UTEP!   When you watch his freshman tape, it's evident that Sellers will be a future star in St. Paul's offense. See for yourself below:      DJ Waluyn is a talented and highly recruited safety from Hoover who ended up committing yesterday afternoon.   "Waluyn is a talented safety that offenses have to look out for every down. Waluyn is quick, plays with a ton of speed and instincts, and can make huge plays on the ball in coverage. He's terrific at tracking and getting his hands on passes, frequently causing pass breakups and hauling in interceptions.   Against the run, Waluyn is quick to get downhill, is excellent in pursuit, and frequently hunts down the ball carrier to create stops by the line of scrimmage and in the open field."   Yesterday, Waluyn committed to Duke! I'm really looking forward to watching him both this fall and at the next level, he's a talented player with a bright future ahead.      Caleb Canty is a talented OL from McAdory who's recently committed to Maryland.   "Canty is a physical force at the line of scrimmage who mauls defenders in the run game to provide tons of space for his teammates to work with. He explodes off the line, plays at a great pad level, and has the power and drive to completely flatten defenders into the dirt both at the line and further upfield.   Canty is an anchor in pass protection as well. He provides a clean right side of the line by using his quickness, hands, and strength to his advantage. He's a matchup nightmare for opposing pass rushers with how quick he is to react and counter rush moves- providing tons of time for his QB to work with."   I watched Canty for the first time recently and was super impressed with his tape. He's a really talented, and physical player up front who will be a huge addition to Maryland's 2027 class.   If you haven't seen him already, I highly recommend checking out his tape below.      MJ Gideon is a talented 2027 RB from Madison who now has a future booked in the SEC.   "Gideon is explosive with the ball in his hands- he plays with great speed and physicality, has impressive contact balance, and can easily make defenders miss with his elusiveness. I'm impressed with Gideon's patience- he waits for rushing lanes/blocks to develop, and when they do, he has the speed and explosiveness to quickly turn upfield for huge gains.   Gideon also produced well in his team's passing attack- he's a productive route runner underneath who has a reliable set of hands he uses to haul in receptions."   A few days back, Gideon committed to Vanderbilt!   Gideon has been an incredibly reliable RB for James Clemens the last few years, and when you watch his tape, it's clear he has was it takes to play in the SEC.
