Grinstead is a shifty back who does a nice job making defenders miss in tight spaces. He has the speed to get around the corner and turn the edge when a lane opens up. One thing I like is that he doesn't seem to be in a rush. He's willing to let blocks develop and trusts what he sees before hitting the hole. He plays hard, competes every snap, and strikes me as a pretty smart player with how he approaches the position. Year one gave a few flashes. I'm interested to see what year two looks like now that he has some experience under his belt.

Strunk is a multi-sport athlete with potential in both baseball and football. The athletic background shows up in the way he moves, especially with his balance and vision as a runner. He does a nice job getting small through the hole and slipping through traffic when things get crowded. He can absorb contact, stay on his feet, and fight for extra yards at the end of runs. He may not be the biggest back physically, but he plays bigger than his frame and doesn't shy away from contact. The toughness stands out just as much as the athleticism.

Wilkins is a big-bodied back with an updated frame of 5'11", 210 pounds, and he uses that size well. He's tough to bring down and consistently falls forward at the end of runs. In short-yardage situations, he's the kind of runner you want carrying the football because he can push through contact and keep the chains moving. Arm tackles usually aren't enough, and defenders have to come ready to wrap up. He also has value in the red zone, where his power and physical running style become even bigger assets. Every offense needs a back who can get the tough yards, and that's where Wilkins does some of his best work.

Strader is an intriguing recruit and a two-sport athlete who plays both basketball and football. He's a point guard on the court, and you can see that vision translate to the football field. He does a nice job finding creases, seeing plays develop before they happen, and getting to the right spot at the right time. He's got sharp, hard cuts and doesn't lose momentum. The athleticism is obvious, but it's the feel for the game that caught my attention. I hope he sticks with football because he's got the potential.

Pendergist has a good frame for a younger back and already shows some of the physical traits you want to see at the position. He runs with good pad level, keeps the football tucked tight, and doesn't give defenders many free shots at it. He can play a physical style and is willing to help in pass protection, which is something younger backs often struggle with. As a runner, he keeps things simple. He doesn't try to bounce everything outside or get too cute in the backfield. When a lane is there, he hits it and gets upfield. There's something to be said for backs who take what's available and keep an offense on schedule.
