Loaded With Potential: 2028 Kentucky Skill Talent

We're heading to the 2028 class today to highlight a group of playmakers who have the potential to take a big step this fall.    Davidson brings elite, game-changing speed and is the type of player who can change the game anytime he touches the ball. He's shifty in space, makes defenders miss, and is extremely difficult to run down once he gets into the open field. His change of direction is really good, and he doesn't lose much speed. He's a constant big-play threat and forces defenses to account for him whenever he's on the field. I think he's one of those players who has all the ingredients to pop off this fall and put together a breakout season.     Powell is a dynamic back who shows a lot of promise with the ball in his hands. He has good vision and does a nice job identifying lanes as they develop. His cuts are sharp and decisive, allowing him to get through tight spaces and maximize runs. He also has a quick change of direction and can get around the corner when defenders lose leverage. The shiftiness stands out, and he's the type of runner who can make the first defender miss in space. I think there's a lot of untapped potential here, and he's a player who could take a significant step forward this fall.     Webb is a good athlete who contributes on both sides of the ball, but I like his offensive skill set the most. He has soft hands and does a nice job attacking the football in the air rather than waiting for it to come to him. He also has good speed and can run away from the pack once he gets into space. The athleticism shows up in multiple areas, but he looks especially natural as a playmaker on offense. I think he looks ready for the fall and could be in line for a bigger year if the opportunities are there.     Kibawa is a player I like quite a bit at receiver. He shows hard, decisive cuts and has the traits to develop into a really good route runner. He can cut on a dime and does a nice job creating separation at the top of his routes, which consistently gives him space to work with. His hands are solid, and his movement skills stand out when watching him operate in the passing game. There's still room for growth, but the route-running potential is definitely there. I'm interested to see whether he takes that next step this fall, as he has the tools to become a much bigger factor in the offense.     Barefield is a good athlete with solid speed and runs with a decisive one-cut style. He does a nice job sticking his foot in the ground and getting north-south without wasting movement. He's effective out of the backfield as a receiver and shows good feel in the screen game, allowing blocks to develop and following them patiently before accelerating upfield. Once he gets going, his top-end speed becomes a real weapon and allows him to turn chunk plays into explosive gains. I think his combination of vision, speed, and versatility makes him an intriguing offensive weapon.
