Max is a strong tackler who makes a lot of plays in the box. He consistently makes plays near the line of scrimmage and usually stops momentum with good form tackling. Max plays a disciplined style of football and is usually where he needs to be for his defense. Even on one play where he over pursued a little bit, he still managed to punch the football out of the running back's hands and recover the fumble. Currently on the light side of things as a linebacker, he's able to overcome with with technique, instincts, physicality, and quick read-and-react ability. Accoring to his X (formerly Twitter bio), he is now 205 pounds (up from 10 pounds previously). I expect him to take his game up another level headed into his junior year.

Conley is a dual-threat at quarterback, actively looking to do damage with his legs. He excels in what looks like an offense that uses the double-wing formation a lot. Conley's mobility and toughness stands out for a player his size. His first highlight from 48 yards out shows his impressive vision and power by bursting through traffice, making multiple defenders miss, breaking tackles on his way to teh end zone. I think his success with play-action passes (shown in his highlights) is attributed to the fact that defenses respect his team's rushing attack and him as a funner. He makes good decisions on option plays, RPO's, and scramble situations. Is he more of an athlete than quarterback. Is he an effective quarterback? Absolutely.

I think the most interesting thing about this evaluation is that he is ranked as a wide receiver, but he also comes away impressed with his athletic skills on defense. Defensively, he lined up at cornerback and linebacker and made plays as a pass defender (interception, for example), pass rusher (pressure on the QB), and a run defender (tackle for a loss). From a wide receiver standpoint, Thomas has the ability to crack the top 10 at that position if given enough opportunities. His size, ball skills, and ability to accelerate after the catch all make him a matchup nightmare. Currently at 195 pounds, he has room to add good weight. I think he is a long strider from a speed standpoint. Also, physically, there are plays on his highlights where he runs through tackles and wins 50/50 balls. I'll say this much: I wouldn't be surprised if he is also being recruited on defense. Some additional weight and added strength, and you have a solid linebacker prospect with great athleticism for the position. Just a thought.

Per AJ's X account, he's currently 260 pounds. He's an aggressive guard who excels in space and when asked to climb to the second level. AJ's film shows plays where he's consistently chipping a defensive tackle before transitioning to block a linebacker or defensive back downfield (one ended up being a 20-plus yard gain on a screen pass o the running back). He plays strong, can be physical, and finishes plays (a few pancakes on his highlights. I think AJ needs to tighten his initial set in pass protection and meet pass rushers more aggressively at the line of scrimmage. Would like to see him get a little bit more explosive off the ball as well.
