2028 Mortimer Jordan DB Zavier Burrow put together one of the stronger defensive back performances at the Faulkner University prospect camp. Burrow tested well with a 4.7 40 and 4.31 shuttle, and that movement ability translated onto the field during drills and coverage work. A physical corner, he consistently forced receivers to fight through contact and did a nice job staying attached to their hips throughout routes. His hand usage stood out in press coverage, where he effectively jammed receivers and disrupted timing. Burrow showed no hesitation playing bump-and-run, and he finished several reps by locating the football and getting his eyes up to make a play at the catch point.

2027 Buckhorn DB Bramlett Holmes flashed several traits that make him an intriguing defensive back prospect. Holmes possesses quality length at 6'0, with a frame that still has room for further development. He was at his best in press coverage, using his physicality to jam receivers at the line and disrupt routes before they could develop. While his testing numbers may not have jumped off the page, his play speed was noticeably better during the 1-on-1 period, particularly when asked to carry receivers downfield. His long frame created challenges for pass catchers throughout the day, and he showed the recovery speed to close ground if a receiver initially gained a step. Holmes also did a nice job locating the football and getting his head around at the catch point, flashing the tools and upside worth monitoring moving forward.

2028 Pace (FL) LB Caden Shoemanker was one of the more impressive athletes in attendance, regardless of position. Shoemanker posted outstanding testing numbers, including a 4.63 40 and a 4.15 shuttle at 6'0 210. He moved comfortably in space, showing fluidity both laterally and when opening up and running vertically. His athletic profile suggests a linebacker capable of impacting the game in multiple ways, whether that is attacking downhill as a blitzer, holding up in coverage, or fitting the run. Shoemanker left the camp looking like a high-ceiling prospect with an excellent athletic foundation and plenty of room for continued development.

2029 A.H. Parker DB Keilen Wheeler looked every bit like one of the top young prospects in the region at the Faulkner University prospect camp. Wheeler tested well with a 4.7 40 and 4.47 shuttle, showcasing the athleticism that has already helped him secure a P4 offer from Florida State. His athletic frame stands out immediately in person, and he carries himself like a player with a bright future ahead. For a rising sophomore, Wheeler showed a strong feel for the defensive back position, displaying natural fluidity watching him ove around. The athletic traits are easy to see, and his combination of physical tools and early instincts points to a prospect with significant long-term upside.

2028 Bozeman (FL) DB Rylee McNeil showcased an intriguing blend of size and athleticism at the Faulkner University prospect camp. McNeil tested well with a 4.62 40 and 4.31 shuttle, and were evident throughout the day in coverage and drills. His length allowed him to stay competitive down the field, and he showed the ability to run stride for stride with receivers on vertical routes. When in a good position, his frame made it difficult for quarterbacks to layer the ball over the top and defended the catch point well. While he worked at corner during the camp, his long-term projection may be strongest at safety, where his athleticism, range, and room to add additional mass could make him a versatile defender. The physical tools are certainly there, making him an interesting young prospect to follow.

2027 Milton (FL) LB Airiston Johnson looked the part of a future college linebacker with his sturdy 6'0 210 build and overall athletic profile. Johnson posted a solid 4.84 40 and moved better during position work than his shuttle time might indicate. What stood out most was how comfortable he looked in space, showing fluid hips when transitioning out of his backpedal and gaining depth in his zone drops. He changed direction naturally and handled movement-based drills with ease for a player of his size. Johnson's combination of physical traits and agility made for a solid showing and highlighted traits that translate well to the linebacker position.

2027 Pensacola Catholic (FL) DB Taveon Purifoy showcased the fluidity that coaches look for in a defensive back during his camp performance. Purifoy tested well with a 4.7 40 and 4.5 shuttle, and his athleticism was evident throughout coverage drills. He displayed quick feet in his backpedal, transitioned smoothly when flipping his hips, and gained depth efficiently without wasting movement. Despite a smaller frame, Purifoy plays with good speed and twitch, allowing him to stay connected to receivers through route transitions. His ability to move comfortably in space and mirror routes stood out over the course of the day. As he continues to add size and strength, Purifoy has the athletic foundation and positional traits to develop into a next-level defensive back.

2027 Reeltown LB CJ Maddox is a prospect whose skill set translates better to game film than a camp environment, but there were still flashes of what made him such a productive defender as a junior. Maddox has a physical build and plays with a downhill mentality, showing the temperament and play style teams look for at linebacker. His best work comes when he can trigger against the run, attack gaps, and play through contact near the line of scrimmage. There is also value in his ability to rush off the edge from an outside linebacker alignment, where he can use his physicality to affect the quarterback. While coverage is not the centerpiece of his game, he showed enough movement ability to function in space when asked. The overall profile is that of a productive, physical linebacker who thrives when allowed to play forward and attack.
