Early Foundations: Kentucky’s 2029 Offensive Line

He plays with a mean streak and brings a physical presence every snap. His strong hands allow him to control defenders at the point of attack, and he has the power to dominate in the run game. He looks to finish blocks and plays with the kind of edge that offensive line coaches love. When he gets locked onto a defender, he can drive them out of the play and create movement up front. He consistently gets first reach on defenders and does a nice job using his size to gain positioning early in reps. In the run game, he can create lanes and generate movement at the point of attack. His pass protection is still developing, but the traits are there to project long-term success in that area as well. He has good core strength and balance and does a nice job of staying under control throughout the reps. His hand placement is solid, and he plays through the whistle. He's still developing physically, but the potential is there. He looks more nimble, shows a better first step, and moves well when asked to get out in space in the run game. The added mobility has made him a more complete player and allows him to be effective in a variety of blocking situations. I like where he's at right now, but it feels like there's still another level for him to reach. He has the length teams look for in a true tackle at the next level, and once he latches onto a defender, the rep is usually headed in his favor. He plays with a mauler mentality and brings elite raw power to the point of attack. Defenders have a hard time disengaging once he gets his hands on them, and he can overwhelm opponents with sheer strength. The physical tools jump off the tape, and the ceiling is easy to envision when you combine that frame with the way he plays.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
