Recruiting Notebook: Spring Showcases Lead to Big Offers

Browne is still raw and developing his skill set, but he has the foot speed, size-speed ratio and play strength to excel on a college program. Browne is solid in pass protection and can play long to neutralize rushers, but his real value comes on defense where he can be a strong run-plugging defensive tackle at the next level. Torbert is feisty in coverage and physical with good use-of-hands. He can break on the ball effectively in coverage, and is quick out of a backpedal. I love his physicality and ability to pursue and chase against the run. Strong and versatile athlete who has also played quarterback as a sophomore. The 6-foot-3, 180-pond rising senior quarterback flashes good accuracy on the deep ball. He flashes a quick trigger and good anticipation, timing and zip over the middle of the field and can drop it in the bucket on the deep ball. Primarily a pocket guy.
