Initially I was impressed with Malachi's size and build standing at 6'2" 220 pounds. I was further impressed by his super fluid movement patterns in every drill I watched him perform. Specifically, the push pull drill is where I think he looked really good. On top of that he has strong active hands that he displayed all day with some violent club moves. Young won most of his 1 on 1 matchups showing us an array of pass rush moves including two inside spin moves on two different reps. After watching Malachi's work ethic in person, I'm not surprised to see all of the training translate during his film evaluation.

Brodnicki is a big body 3 tech who displayed good footwork and some sneaky athleticism throughout the drill periods. At 265 pounds I was impressed by his ability to start and stop without a hitch in movement. Luke lining up at TE for Hudsonville is not surprising as he is strong enough to be used in the run game and nimble enough to be a downfield threat. I expect Luke to continue his versatility on both sides of the ball as he can be used as a 1, 3 & 4 tech in my opinion.

VanderWal was an intriguing evaluation to me as he is not built like the typical interior defensive lineman. With that being said, he showed nothing but speed and explosion the entire workout. His low center of gravity allows him to have natural leverage others in his position don't have. At 225 he is built like a bowling ball with great strength. It is evident that his frame lends to his ability to work with finesse on the defensive line, which we saw during the live 1 on 1 period.

Based off of the eye test, Grady Patrick is what I would like my Interior defensive lineman to be built like. When it comes to the intangibles I thought Grady showed his ability to bend and beat olineman with good leverage. He moves very well for a guy just under 270 pounds but I think his high motor is what allows him to make plays in the trenches.
