PRZ Exposure Series: Texas MVPs

The Prep Redzone Showcase Series stop in the DFW area featured a loaded group of talent across multiple positions, with several prospects proving they belong firmly on college radars heading into the offseason. From polished quarterbacks and dominant trench players to young skill-position standouts with major upside, the camp was filled with athletes who made the most of their opportunities during combine work, positional drills, and competitive one-on-one periods.   A number of players separated themselves with strong technique, athleticism, and overall consistency throughout the event, while others emerged as new names for recruiting circles to monitor closely heading into the fall season.    Trossbach turned in one of the more polished defensive back performances at the showcase. The Brock standout displayed excellent technique throughout the day, pairing smooth movement skills with strong ball awareness. During the position specific portion of the camp, Trossbach consistently stood out because of his fluid backpedal, clean footwork, and ability to transition quickly in space.   He showed impressive change of direction during combine drills and looked comfortable competing in coverage situations. Trossbach capped off a strong day by recording an interception during one-on-one competition, highlighting his instincts and playmaking ability. He is an emerging young defensive back with plenty of upside.     Shaw continued to strengthen his reputation as one of the top returning quarterbacks in the Metroplex. He showcased a strong arm, polished mechanics, and the ability to make throws to every level of the field. Shaw threw with confidence throughout the showcase and consistently displayed touch and timing on intermediate and deep routes.   The production speaks for itself. Shaw passed for 2,523 yards and 26 touchdowns last season while also adding 394 rushing yards and four scores on the ground. His combination of arm talent, athleticism, and poise continues to attract recruiting attention, with recent offers from Washburn and East Central University. Shaw is firmly trending upward entering the fall.     MacDonald may already be known as a two-year starter at Lewisville on the offensive side of the ball, but he showcased major versatility and athleticism by dominating during defensive line work at the showcase. MacDonald consistently exploded off the line with a quick first step while using a stiff punch and strong leverage to win reps in the trenches.   His motor stayed active throughout the event, and he flashed the physical tools that make him such an intriguing prospect moving forward. MacDonald has had an outstanding offseason and continues to build momentum after picking up an offer from Oregon State to add to the offer he had from Colorado State. With camp season approaching, he is a rising junior who should continue drawing significant attention from college programs.     At 6-foot-7, Rogers immediately stood out because of his size and athletic frame, but his movement skills were equally impressive. The Denton Guyer offensive lineman showed nimble feet, great reach, and the ability to use his length effectively at the point of attack.   Rogers moved fluidly during drill work and delivered one of the more dominant trench performances at the camp. He possesses plenty of room to continue adding strength and bulk to his frame, making him an intriguing long-term prospect in the 2028 class. Rogers is definitely a name to watch closely this fall at Guyer.     Pinnick put together an impressive showing with his arm talent and ability to create outside the pocket. The Aledo quarterback displayed strong mechanics, good mobility, and the ability to make throws on the move. Pinnick consistently fit passes into tight windows while showing confidence and command throughout the day.   His footwork and overall rhythm stood out during positional work, and he made several big-time throws during competition periods. Pinnick continues to emerge as a promising young quarterback prospect in Texas and is a player college programs will want to monitor over the next year.       Starr showcased athleticism and versatility throughout the linebacker drills and competitive sessions. The Waxahachie defender moved extremely well laterally and demonstrated good feet during movement drills. He also showed the ability to hold his own in space during one-on-one reps against running backs.   Starr's fluid movement skills and overall upside were evident throughout the camp, making him one of the more intriguing young linebackers in attendance.     One of the younger prospects who generated attention was Melissa receiver [player_tooltip player_id='2198552' first='Zedek' last='Brown Ton']. The 2029 standout showed strong hands, fluid movement skills, and advanced route-running ability.   Brown Ton consistently created separation during drills and made catches in tight coverage during one-on-one competition. His smooth athleticism and natural receiving ability make him an exciting young playmaker to know in the DFW area moving forward.      Zamora delivered a strong all-around performance in the defensive back group. He showcased sound technique, smooth backpedal mechanics, and good leverage throughout the day. Zamora also flashed strong ball skills and competitiveness during one-on-one competition, where he consistently won reps against receivers.   His overall consistency and confidence stood out, and he was one of the more productive defensive backs at the event.     Asberry was dominant during trench competition and showed why he is a prospect worth monitoring in the 2028 class. He displayed a powerful punch, quick feet, and impressive lateral mobility throughout the showcase.   Despite possessing a stout build, Asberry moved extremely well in space and consistently won reps during one-on-one periods. His combination of strength and athleticism made him one of the top offensive linemen at the event.     Duncanville running back [player_tooltip player_id='1587065' first='Quincey' last='Patton'] flashed explosiveness and versatility during the showcase. The young back showed good speed, quickness, and natural pass-catching ability during running back drills.   Patton moved fluidly throughout the camp and displayed the ability to change direction effectively in space. He is another young name in the 2029 class with exciting upside.     McCauley put together one of the more complete linebacker performances of the day. At 6-foot-1 and 207 pounds, the Keller standout possesses a strong frame while still moving fluidly in space. McCauley showcased excellent instincts, reacted quickly during drills, and covered well during one-on-one reps against running backs.   His combination of size, movement ability, and football instincts points toward major upside as he continues to develop. McCauley is definitely a linebacker prospect who deserves more attention heading into the fall.      Deucher backed up his strong junior season with an excellent showing at the showcase. The El Paso Hanks running back displayed burst, quickness, and strong change-of-direction ability throughout the combine and positional drills.   Deucher also performed well during the passing portion of camp, winning reps in one-on-one situations and showing versatility as a receiving threat out of the backfield. His junior production was outstanding, rushing for 1,621 yards and 14 touchdowns while adding three receiving touchdowns.   The honors piled up for Deucher last season. He was a First Team All-District selection, Offensive MVP, and he received Second Team All-City recognition. He currently holds an offer from McPherson College and continues to establish himself as one of the more productive running backs in West Texas.
