COLUMBIA | The offensive talent, especially at the skill positions during last week's Prep Redzone Exposure Showcase Series gave everyone reason for optimism in the next few years. As we stated in our initial Awards article last week, they may be inexperienced, but something like this can help as they continue to grow and contribute more to their teams when the lights come on for real on Fridays.

Here's a look at more notables from the offense from Friday's showcase:

Spring Valley's [player_tooltip player_id='2212448' first='Elijah' last='Williams'] (pictured above) left an impression on us after watching him on Friday. He has great size and a great velocity on his throws. His head coach Norm Washington was on hand last week and he told us that he is at 215 pounds. He played the first three games of 2025 before suffering a season-ending ankle injury. He made a good connection to Cameron Dennis on the out route. Williams came back and connected with a guy right up the pike. He can let it fly, as evidenced on touchdown catch to who ran a full speed route. Williams also threw a ball to Hammond's [player_tooltip player_id='1069233' first='Caden' last='Young'] – who has soft hands and can get up field to get extra yards.

Another quarterback who caught our eye was Chapman's [player_tooltip player_id='2167554' first='Ashton' last='Moore']. Moore, who always plays baseball, can also get the ball out quick to his receivers, like on a curl route. He has good presence in the pocket and doesn't force the ball. He connected with Zac Bacheleder on an impressive corner route. That was one of several great catches Bachleneder made throughout the night.

Mountain View Prep's [player_tooltip player_id='1938780' first='Caden' last='Hunter'] did a good job of looking the ball into his hands and getting up field. He knows how to find the green grass and make a move in space. He played sparingly in 2025, recording 11 receptions for 188 yards and three touchdowns.

Palmetto's [player_tooltip player_id='2126413' first='Parker' last='Janssen'] has great size on him at 6-foot-4, which allows him to be able to see the field and make accurate throws in the pocket, like he did on a quick throw out to his right on Friday. While the showcase didn't feature any live scramble drills, we went back and saw him create plays by scrambling and finding open receivers. Janssen's teammate, [player_tooltip player_id='1823993' first='Logan' last='Newsome'] is a playmaker at receiver – he did a good job of snatching the ball out of the air when we watched one of his reps. He made a great catch on the out route, extending out to make the catch.

Lake Wylie's [player_tooltip player_id='1612450' first='Landon' last='Robinson'] has not taken a snap with his new team yet in 2026, but Friday's showcase gave him a chance to work with guys from all over the state. He will give his receiver a chance to catch the ball. Has a nice velocity on his throw. He made a great connection on a post route to where only his guy could make the catch. Atlantic Collegiate Academy's [player_tooltip player_id='1683096' first='Brennan' last='Moore'] made a great connection with Wren's [player_tooltip player_id='1791085' first='Jack' last='Hughes'] on a post route for a touchdown. Hughes consistently beat his man in one-on-one coverage and will be a leader for the Hurricanes in 2026. Chapin's [player_tooltip player_id='2167815' first='Avery' last='Neuls'] made a great catch near the sideline with a man draped over him.

On the offensive line, one standout in particular was [player_tooltip player_id='1818909' first='Aiden' last='Holmes'] from Dreher. Holmes has good size on him and can move well to his left. He is aggressive with his hands and did not allow the defensive lineman to get penetration and did not let up on the play until the whistle blew when he went up against opposing defensive linemen in one-on-ones.

At running back, Draylen Gray from Camden was one of our favorites to watch. He caught our eye with his speed during the 40-yard dash. Later on during the individual session, he showed good hands with a good burst of speed after making the catch on the out route. He can run a variety of routes, i.e., go route. He came back during one-on-ones and created separation for a catch.

Melvin Singleton Jr. from Carolina Forest made an acrobatic catch on a quick out. Good hands on the reception as well. He did a good job of looking the ball into his hands on a go route. Mountain View Prep's [player_tooltip player_id='865974' first='Jemo' last='Stinson'] has good hands and can catch the ball and get up field quickly. Great catch on the wheel route where he looked the ball into his hands. He made a good stutter move on the angle route to make the catch and get past the defender in the competitive drill. [player_tooltip player_id='2210788' first='Noah' last='Dunn'] from Lexington did an excellent job looking the ball over his shoulder into the end zone for a score.
