*Use code "jackson30" for 30% off your PRZ Subscription*

6A Region 2 is one of the most loaded regions in the state, chalked full of future FBS and P4 talent. Still, there are some true D1 prospects who aren't picking up the love they deserve nationally. Whether that love comes or not, they get a vote of confidence from me here.

Holtzclaw is a juiced up athlete with D1 attention under his belt, but still someone who is being overlooked nationally. He is a true inside-out threat at receiver, flashing the ability to contribute efficiently from different spots and at different levels. He is best vertically, where he uses his short area explosiveness and long strides to cut through cushion and lift off vertically. His body control is impressive, making plays in congested areas, picking the ball off the turf, and winning over the top. He doubles as a T/F standout with an impressive 6'6 reading in the HJ, good enough for state runner up.

Fields, now at Auburn, has several offers under his belt and is a candidate to add more between now and signing day. He is listed at 6'3 305 and is a candidate to contribute on both sides of the football. Most reps offensively were as a blocker, where he is a true mauler with overwhelming strength and violence at the point of attack. He is a better athlete than I expected, fully capable of getting out and occupying space in the second-level. Regardless, on whichever side of the ball he ends up at, it will be his overwhelming strength at the POA that sets the intrigue for his game.

He is a secret for now, but I don't think that will stick for long. Brown is a massive, rare traits prospect on the Carver OL, coming in at 6'6 325. He is certainly raw, but he is a physically manipulative player who is quick enough out of his stance and works hard to get his hip around and turn momentum up field. Even with slight adjustments to hand placement will help him become a dominant player at the POA. It feels like a matter of time before FBS and P4 programs get involved here.

Grant, despite his size and production, has flown well under the radar. There is a chance he outgrows the WR position and becomes a TE, but as of now, I will still project him as a TE. He is a towering threat on the outside with a proven ability to consistently win in contested situations down the field. He is a mismatch, but he has some serious giddy up as well, both before and after the catch. He can cut through cushion and tack on extra yards after the catch. Someone will take a chance on this kid. He is easy to dream on.

Lyles is a pretty well-known player in the area, but someone people are still getting to know nationally. He is listed at 6'2 230 with the desirable length and bend to consistently win around the arc. He uses his hands well at the point of attack and is capable of working off both shoulders. While he has plenty of juice, he is also patient as a pursuer. He is a physical player with good size, so he offers some power at the point of attack and the ability to defend the run. He holds FBS offers, and that list should continue to grow.

This is my first look at George, who caught my eye with his listed 10.72 PR in the 100M. He is a thin, lean receiver at 6'0 165 with room to bulk, but will likely always play as more of a featherweight. Like a true sprinter, he has long strides and high knee drive, building momentum up field and making it hard for DBs to latch on and carry his routes vertically. I will be watching him again this fall to see how everything ties together, but you can't argue against the speed he offers. He flashes some physicality and an edge as a blocker, too.

There's plenty of horsepower on the defensive front for Opelika, including Gray. This is actually my first watch here, but early D1 offers, and his size alone are enough to grab my attention and turn on the tape here. He is a raw, but long player with prototype EDGE traits. He is a fairly athletic player with the speed to at least float around the backfield and chase the ball between the tackles. He uses his length to create extension and free himself more easily. He also uses his length to spread out and cast a net as a tackler. His best ball is ahead of him, and his combination of traits and upside should translate over the next few years at New Haven.

This is actually not my first look at Oden, but it is still a good time to circle back and check in here. He is another prototype EDGE guy at 6'4 210 with more than desired length. He is a long strider with plenty of range, and actually spent a lot of time off the ball as a junior. He is a physical player who pursues hard and explodes through contact. Even off the ball, you can see how challenging it is for blockers to get hands on his chest and how hard it is for playmakers in space to slip away from him. He is definitely an interesting watch, but his pursuit skills at his size are worth a mention.

I actually wrote up Laws earlier this month. Here is an excerpt from that write-up:

"This is my first look at Laws, who has jumped on the D1 radar this offseason. He is just a really steady player on tape, playing well at each level of the field and doubling as a productive returner. He is a smooth, fluid athlete who skates across the grass and gears down well at the top of his routes. He is surprisingly tough in space, staying on his feet by pulling himself through contact."
