Even with the underclassman it is important to stay current with where athletes are at in their early development. Who is already advanced in their development? Who is just starting to see it all come together? Who can we expect to breakout? It all starts with camp performances and when it comes to the Class of 2029 you can bet I have a list of athletes that I am hoping to see in person over the next 8 weeks. So let's talk about some of that list. Coaches, these are some athletes who are going to be at or near the top of this Class. So make sure that you have them on your radars today.

Right up at the top of my list is Grafton TE Hank Doyle. The '29 TE has a long list of elite traits and tools that should have him as a highly sought after recruit over the coming years. This summer I hope to see him in person because I want to see him vs top competition. Grafton was a deep roster that was able to make a run to a State Championship so they didn't need much from a freshman TE. So this summer should be the launching pad for Hank's recruitment. It will be our first look at how he moves, creates space, uses his size, attacks the ball in the air. I want to see where he is at on the path towards becoming a top recruit for his Class and a mismatch at the TE position.

Evan is a special athlete that could be a top tester at any camps he attends this summer while also being one of the younger athletes in attendance. The QB/DB made his mark playing all over the place for Madison West and impacted games because of his advanced development athletically. That is what I want to see this summer. I want to see the numbers he puts up, and I also want to see if he participates as a QB or if he goes with one of the other positions he could thrive at because of his size and athleticism. Not many underclassman have Evan's size and can move like him. I hope to catch up with him this summer and watch it live.

Another Top 10 prospect that I hope to catch up with live is Marshfield's Ethan Foemmel at QB. Ethan was able to earn the varsity job as a freshman and get valuable experience under his belt. Watching Ethan's clips from his offseason work has me excited for what he is working his way into being. The ball jumps out of his hand, carries its velocity to its target and the '29 seems to be fine tuning his accuracy. This summer I want to see Ethan throw it around live. Watching QBs in person is so important for getting a feel for the athlete's arm talent and that is what I hope to get a chance to experience early in Ethan's development and high school career.

It is not easy to standout as a DB on varsity. Especially as a freshman starter. That is what Will did in 2025. So much so that he was able to earn 2nd Team All Conference honors. What I want to see from Will this summer is how he can compete when it comes to 1 on 1. Will plays safety for Waukesha South, so being asked to play man to man isn't something he has had to do much in his career yet. I also want to see how he handles the higher level of competition and going up against upperclassmen in those scenarios. Does he have the athletic tools to be able to stay tight in coverage? I hope to get to answer that question in the coming weeks.

Emmett is another 2029 who was able to play on varsity for a good chunk of the season. However, he was used primarily for his blocking abilities in 2025. Getting that early experience as a blocker, and success, is fantastic to see and will give coaches a lot of confidence in his ability to be an impact player at the next level. What we haven't gotten to see much is how Emmett performs as a receiving threat. That is what I want to see this summer. How does he test and then how does he win as a receiver? Does he rely on route running, his frame, or athleticism to get open? Is he a natural at catching the ball? Can he create a consistent mismatch vs LBs or DBs? This could be a big summer for Emmett to make a name for himself.

This is a very intriguing athlete at WR coming out of Green Bay East. Abrian has outstanding length on his frame already at 6'4", but he has work to do to fill out that frame. Last I saw, Abrian was about 130 lbs. His weigh-in will be the first thing I'm interested in. From there I'm excited to watch him compete. Allen has shown he can stretch the field vertically on the varsity field. So I want to watch him compete with upperclassmen at DB. See how he attacks the ball and if he can create separation in multiple ways. I also want to see the numbers he puts up in the combines he attends. This summer could be a launching pad for Abrian going forward.
