Emmett is another 2029 who was able to play on varsity for a good chunk of the season. However, he was used primarily for his blocking abilities in 2025. Getting that early experience as a blocker, and success, is fantastic to see and will give coaches a lot of confidence in his ability to be an impact player at the next level. What we haven’t gotten to see much is how Emmett performs as a receiving threat. That is what I want to see this summer. How does he test and then how does he win as a receiver? Does he rely on route running, his frame, or athleticism to get open? Is he a natural at catching the ball? Can he create a consistent mismatch vs LBs or DBs? This could be a big summer for Emmett to make a name for himself.

Emmett finished 2025 with 4 receptions for 19 yards in his freshman season on varsity. However, that is the smallest tip of the iceberg when it comes to his impact. The 6’3″ 200 lbs TE made his impact as a run blocker. The freshman has built a strong frame already. A frame that was able to consistently drive edge defenders off the line and open up big holes so his RB could cut upfield off his backside. Emmett also showed that he could get across the formation on leads and deliver strong blocks to dig LBs out of running lanes. The pass game production should grow, but while it does you can count on Emmett to continue to build on his talent as a forceful run blocker.

Coaches, get excited about this kid. Emmett is a freshman TE oozing with potential. 4.94 40 speed, 4.5 shuttle, 8’10” broad at 6’2″ 200 lbs, and running a 7.06 L-Drill. Emmett already is showing excellent fluidity in his movements and overall athleticism. He is smooth getting deep downfield, sudden off the line and also flashed some explosive burst out of breaks that consistently opened up space. The freshman TE also did really well playing the ball in the air and catching it with strong hands. I’m very excited about the potential of Emmett. He is a 2029 to know.
