With a busy off-season upon us, it is getting ready to really heat up with approaching camps, combines and working through the seemingly endless recruiting process.

For the guys who have been dedicated since the start of the off-season and have a solid four months of work in the bank, the summer will be a time to fine-tune skills and become a master at their craft while still lifting and doing speedwork.

If you waited until now to start the grind, you're late to the party...but there is still time if you get busy now.

In this report we are taking a closer look at five guys from each of the returning classes who have been flying under the radar somewhat but are getting ready to change all that this fall.

So without further adieu, let's take a closer look at what these guys have to offer:

[player_tooltip player_id='1591883' first='Beckett' last='Kullberg'], 6'3, 205, TE/Edge, Blue Valley North, '28, this guy got my attention a year ago as a promising two-way baller who plays tight end on offense and on the other side of the ball plays DE or as an Edge rusher. On the season he had 15 tackles in four games and gave coaches and fans a glimpse of his potential against Washington in late October when he had seven tackles, three TFL and three sacks. On offense he is versatile and can play as a tight end, split wide or line up as an H-back. On defense he controls blockers well with his hands and uses his strength and athleticism to get to the ball in a hurry. This off-season he has been working with ace D-Line trainer Coach Jeddy @coachjeddy_DL on the nuances of trench play and is doing speedwork. He is also planning on hitting several camps, including Lindenwood, KU and K-State. With a strong off-season underway look for this guy to have a breakout year this fall.

Harrison Moody, 6'2, 295, OL/DL, Andover Central, '27, this large and in charge two-way lineman is in the process of moving from Jacksonville, Florida where he played for Christ's Church Academy, and will line up for his senior season with the Jaguars this fall. Once the season was over he went right into competitive weight lifting and has committed to workouts six days a week. His base training has been at Jax Strength, with owner Chad Cahoy, in both Olympic lifts and traditional strength movements. He spends Friday evenings doing offensive line drills at Trench Factory (@Trench_Factory), where Coach Shawn breaks down footwork, hand placement and pass protection technique. On Tuesday and Thursday mornings before sunrise he does speedwork with Coach Scott. Once moved he will start working with state champ Coach Tabor and PIA, as well as join his new teammates for summer work. This guy will be a welcome addition at AC and is focused on a big senior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2071350' first='Axel' last='Pondei'], 6'2, 205, WR/ATH, Kapaun, '27, this guy caught my eye last fall when he and his teammates won the state championship, then again when he played for the Kansas Colts in 7v7 this spring and later as another baller training with Coach Tabor and PIA. He is coming off a good junior season as a two-way player who is a wide receiver on offense and can play in the secondary or as an outside linebacker on defense. Once the state title was won he shifted gears to working hard with Coach Tabor focusing on speed, explosiveness and strength training. He also had a good season working on his craft with the Colts this spring and helped them to a runner-up finish in their last tournament. He has a powerful frame and plays with physicality making the contested catch. His summer is starting to firm up with trips planned to Lindenwood, KU and K-State camps coming up in the near future. This guy has all the tools to dominate this fall.

Cooper Mason, 6'2, 180, WR, Andover Central, '27, he is another Jaguar that caught my eye recently as a three-sport athlete who shifted gears to basketball as soon as football was over and is currently in track doing the jumps and sprints. He has been hitting the gym 5-6 days a week lifting to pack on as much muscle as possible for the coming season. He is also getting field work in to fine-tune timing with new quarterback Ty Degarmo. His dedicated training has paid off as he has gotten bigger while getting faster. As a receiver he has the length and speed to force mismatches in the secondary. He also has sticky hands and an excellent catch radius that he uses effectively making catches in a crowd. He has recently returned from watching Charleston Southern spring practice as well as NE State and has Washburn this weekend. He is also finalizing his camp list with plans to hit KU, K-State, Pitt State, OSU, and hopefully a few more. This guy is getting ready to deliver a statement season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2127238' first='Angel' last='Harris'], 6'1, 210, LB/DE, Wichita NW, '29, and last but certainly not least, we have a versatile defender coming off a good freshman season getting acclimated to the varsity game as an outside linebacker and defensive end. With his powerful frame, quick read and react instincts and excellent closing speed he has the potential to be a baller for the Grizzlies. Once the season was over he went right into wrestling and is currently on the track team. In between the other sports he has been training hard for the upcoming season. He has been lifting in the NW off-season training program, setting PR's in all the key lifts and is also doing speedwork and focusing on getting more explosive. He is still deciding which camps to hit this summer and other than a team padded camp later this summer in Oklahoma City he has not decided which ones to attend. This guy is ready to take the next step this fall.
