Hoosier Hustle: 18U Champions - Playmakers Elite

The Hoosier Hustle is in the books, and with a wild weekend, the 18U champs were crowned. The Playmakers Elite came out on top after all the dust settled.    Riley led the Playmakers Elite offense all weekend and was steady and consistent. He's got a big arm and can make all the throws. He had no issue with the wind on Sunday and has good velocity behind the ball. He got through his reads and delivered the ball when and where it needed to go. He had the fewest interceptions among 18U QBs, which likely helped them stay afloat in close matchups and eventually win the championship.     Carroll is an explosive, high-end athlete who stood out as one of the top raw performers at the event. He shows burst at every level, whether it's off the line, vertically down the field, or elevating to the football. His leaping ability is rare, with the body control and hang time to consistently win at the catch point. Defensively, he's got good vision and instincts. His closing speed is elite, and he drips with confidence and talent. He strikes me as a guy who can have success anywhere on the field at any time.     Anderson is an incredible athlete who belongs on the field. He's twitchy and has raw explosiveness. He's got fantastic hands and can cut on a dime. He's able to make guys miss in short areas and not lose speed. He forces defenses to be honest because he can and will burn them. He had multiple highlight reel-worthy grabs, including a few TDs. He's dynamic, young, and seems to be made of the right stuff. How he develops over the next few years will be key, but the talent and potential are obvious.     Poynter is a long, tall athlete with a good build that he is starting to fill out. He's got long strides and chews up the cushions DBs give him on the line. He shows good twitch as a route runner, with the ability to sink and redirect cleanly at the top of routes. His change of direction is fluid, and he consistently tracks and adjusts to the football at a high level. His ball skills were some of the best of the entire camp, and he gives his QB a massive target. He's a redzone threat and was one of the options that Riley could force-feed. The stop-and-start ability he has really separates him from the pack. He's young and incredibly talented.     Sellers is an intriguing recruit because he's not the tallest guy, but he's got fantastic traits and potential. He's got a thick frame, and you can see the work in the gym pay off. It doesn't impact his speed or twitch, and he's got really good body control. He's strong and can play bigger when needed, but if you get him the ball, he'll make good things happen. He's not distracted by traffic and kept his emotions in check all weekend. Playmakers Elite was well-coached and level-headed, and Sellers was a perfect example of that this weekend.     Lee is a quality athlete with good range and acceleration, showing the ability to cover ground and separate in space. He's elusive with the ball in his hands, capable of creating on his own and turning broken plays into positive gains. The Playmakers Elite team was truly loaded with great athletes and playmakers. They could spread the ball around, they had depth, and they were selfless. I appreciate those teams because they just wanted to win. Lee was inside and outside and had no issue with contact over the middle.     Noyola is a physical WR who can go in the slot and withstand the contact from defenders. He's got strong hands and can bring it in when being contacted, or his vision gets obstructed. I appreciate that he took no reps off and was all business. Some guys get too high or too low emotionally, but Noyola stayed steady all weekend and made plays when the ball came his way.
