And, with time ticking away faster than most would like to admit, it puts that much more emphasis on training dedication as we roll into the summer months.

In this report we will take a quick look at five guys from the class of '27 who have been working the off-season grind since last season ended and are laser-focused on having big senior seasons.

So without further adieu, let's check these guys out:

[player_tooltip player_id='1113161' first='Xavier' last='Miller'], 6'2, 185, WR/DB/ATH, Lincoln, '27, first up is a multi-positional dominator who was a standout on last year's state runner-up team at WR, d-back and as a dangerous return man. For the year he caught 62 passes for 1,167 yards, 15 TD's and added a couple of pancakes for good measure. As a receiver he is a force, with excellent size, athleticism and has a big catch radius. Whether it is yards after the catch or as a return man he is elusive with great burst and is a threat to score on any play. A three-sport athlete he went right into hoops after the season ended and is currently one of the favorites to win state in the 400m. He has had numerous camp and junior day invites and recently returned from trips to Washburn and Hastings. He has been training with two-way standout [player_tooltip player_id='1604524' first='Benjamin' last='Bell'] @BenjaminBell020 and gunslinger QB and bro [player_tooltip player_id='1113297' first='Jeremiah' last='Miller'], @LuvJeremiah3410, a trio that will be the catalyst for this year's title run. Get your popcorn handy...

[player_tooltip player_id='1652617' first='Maddox' last='Girard'], 5'11, 195, MLB/LS, Salina South, '27, things are looking up in Salina these days as the Cougars are coming off a late-season rally that included two exciting upset victories in the playoffs and this middle linebacker and ace long snapper was one of the key drivers to that success. On defense he is a scrappy LB with great instincts, a nose for the ball and when he arrives brings the hammer. Once football was over he transitioned right into wrestling and proceeded to have a record-breaking season. This spring he has been training with Sharp and is focused on bulking up and getting more explosive while also emphasizing speedwork and agilities. He is also a standout long snapper and is in the process of deciding on potential camps to continue to hone his craft. He recently had four wisdom teeth pulled, but will be good to go shortly and intends to be in full football mode for his final season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1632877' first='Kendyn' last='Charbonneau'], 6'0, 185, DB/ATH, Mill Valley, ‘27, up next is a baller who caught my eye last year as a centerfield safety who played suffocating coverage but also collapsed quickly on the run to nail RB's in their tracks. What impressed me the most was his feel for the game and great read and react skills. That, coupled with good lateral quickness and excellent closing speed, enabled him to roam sideline-to-sideline. This spring he played 7v7 where he continued to fine-tune mechanics and make big plays out of the secondary. He has also been living in the weight room and has put on 15 pounds since last fall and is even faster, currently running the 100m, 200m and is a long jumper on the track team. His off-season has been busy with junior visits, and recently returned from trips to Missouri Western and Washburn, which also made him an offer earlier in April. This guy is a player and is primed and ready for a big season.

Max Roberts, 6'3, 275, OL, Olathe North, '27, next up is the only lineman in this report and one who is a versatile standout at either guard or tackle. This past season he was moved to right tackle and proceeded to have a strong season anchoring the perimeter on his side. With a powerful base, quick feet and heavy hands, he is a bulldozer in the run game between the tackles and is also skilled in pass pro as evidenced by allowing zero sacks all year. Additionally, he was never flagged for a holding call all season and also delivered 15+ bone-cracking pancake blocks. This spring he has been working with well-known trainer Chris Gomez who develops top talent in the area, working on mechanics and picking up the nuances of operating in the trenches. He has been spending time in the weight room and has posted PR's in all the key lifts. He also recently had school vists to Sioux Falls and Emporia State and is starting to generate a lot of next-level interest. This guy is ready to rumble this fall.

Landen Taylor, 6'0, 175, WR/DB, Valley Center, '27, and last but certainly not least we have a baller who has been flying under the radar somewhat but is getting ready to change that this fall. He is a talented wide receiver on offense, but where he has really stood out is as a versatile DB who can play corner, safety or in the nickel. He is particularly effective as a shut-down cornerback who can get in the receiver's face and then stay in his hip pocket the entire route. With athleticism and speed he also has good reach and great football instincts coming out of the secondary. For the season he had 21 tackles, a pair of tackles for loss and a couple of PBU's. He was targeted 10 times in nine games and only gave up three catches. Once the season came to a close he started training for this fall, lifting weights, doing speedwork and has been playing 7v7 this spring. He has also had numerous junior day and camp invites, but is still deciding on summer plans. This guy is going to bring the fireworks this fall.
